Re: Welcome back!

Guys. I'm really impressed by Olympus, and the style is a very nice surprise, especially in its construction and code. I'll admit I've been using commercial software to power one of my larger sites of late but I can't wait to get to grips with phpBB3. *Thumbs Up*

Yep I do.

Though a couple of my pals at uni think it's some kind of fashionable competition and really go over the top about it.

Can't say anything has changed after installing it and the security centre is a joke, though I do like the recent spyware application they released.

edit: or should that be 'anti spyware' :p

School loans?! Bah! Try getting a divorce (in the U.S.)! Talking about debt, I recently found out (in a letter threatening to put my bank accounts into 'default' ) that I owed my bank £350 in charges on an old account I had forgotten about, they threatened to withdraw my student account overd...

Heh, I'm going to be about £16000 in debt by the time I leave university but as Graham points out the interest rate is only slightly above inflation so I'll be in no rush to pay it off (though as soon as I can afford to start making repayments I will) Still, £16000 is about what $30000? Bah... Hopef...

Template Conditional, posts

Its been a while since I delved into modding phpBB templates... anyway, I want to alter a style so that I can make a block with a preset message or advertisment message appear after every first post, what conditional could I wrap around the template code to tell it to only appear after post number o...

Spoken like a true right winger  If you choose to infer that I lean right from that post, then you do that :? The only time I'd ever give FOX the light of day is when I'm bored as hell flicking through news channels on Sky and need a laugh- it's the most pathetic 'news' network available to m...

Liberal is used in a much more vicious way than even the word 'Tory' over here, politically, in the States. What makes me laugh is that the US 'Left' are Centre-right if anything.

FOX Biased? Do we expect anything less of the Murdoch empire?

If someone manages to 'hack into your forum' it's either through incompetent passwording of an admin account or unsafe and easy access to your server etc- phpBB is very secure otherwise and you shouldn't really be worried about that. The only way to 'get your forum back' after everything has been de...
