Re: Problem uploading pdf attachment (size limit issue?)

There is two settings for file size attachments. ACP >> Posting Tab >> Attachment Settings <snip> ACP >> Posting Tab >> Manage attachment extension groups Thanks for the info. I had changed the first one to unlimited (which makes me a bit nervous but we shall see). Never touched the second one, but...

Problem uploading pdf attachment (size limit issue?)

One of my members tried to upload a .pdf roster. It was 1.5MB and I have a limit of 6MB on the board. I played around, including doing an upgrade to 3.2.2 but it didn't seem to make any difference. Finally I removed the size limit on attachments and it worked perfectly. Anyone seen any issues with t...

Re: Every bloody time [SOLVED]

I have no idea. I restored what backup I had, it still didn't work (partial backup or something), I did the install again using full install files, I deleted the Install folder as well as "purged the cache by deleting the install and the production folder from the cache folder. also , delete any of ...

Re: Every bloody time

Well, when I go into the Images folder it still appears to have some stuff, stuff like avatars, so there's that. Maybe I didn't lose everything. I don't know where all the other I still don't have a message board, however. Is there anyone around who does this for pay? I will happily, at this point, ...

Re: Every bloody time

Oh, and just for the record, when I went to do this Filezilla asked if I wanted to upgrade my software and I clicked Upgrade and now I am running new Filezilla software.

Do I sound grumpy? Maybe just a little.

Re: Every bloody time

So I just realized that as I was getting ready to do the full upgrade since the Auto Upgrade is apparently broken but continues to be the first one you see when you need to upgrade, up to and including my Message Board giving me a link to it, I got to the point where I was supposed to delete everyth...

Every bloody time

For the record, I'm not an IT guy. I built and maintain our website based on reading a book on HTML almost twenty years ago. I don't change stuff because I don't want to learn the new coding. About every year or so I have to update the phpbb. Every time it goes to hell. Case in point. 1) I download ...

Re: Admin email for new registrations

Have you turned on the email option in notifications? Index page, top right, choose the settings in notifications and tick the email option for new members. Well I'll be darned. I had no idea that was there. I spent forever digging through the ACP. Thanks. I've checked the box, now we'll have to wa...

Re: No Valid Update Directory Was Found?

Great. I decided to just upload my backup back to the server and go back to the flawed but not fatally so version of 3.1.10 that I was using. I deleted all the files, uploaded the whole backup, and ...

Re: No Valid Update Directory Was Found?

So, there's no error here, you can just update the database to complete version upgrading. I have the same problem except that the next step "just update the database" doesn't appear to be an option. The instructions on the update (found here https://www.phpbb.com/support/documents.php?mode=install...

Re: Backing up topics, posts, and members for 3.2 upgrade

you can ask your web host to provide a backup of the database used for your phpBB board. that database consists of all the required data (posts, users, forums, permissions .. etc) So I do have access to that database through the Plesk admin that my host provides to me. I see where I can export or i...

Backing up topics, posts, and members for 3.2 upgrade

I have been having problems with my board since I did a 3.1.9 to 3.1.10 upgrade. Started with a "too low" version of php so had to revert to 3.1.9, but to fix that my host had to migrate the board to a new server, at which point I reinstalled 3.1.10. Since then various things haven't worked. Half my...

Re: Editing mass email spam warning

Then you are not editing the file you think you are/want to edit. That's sort of what I am thinking. Do you know the correct location/name of the file I need? The topic I found from a couple years back had pointed me to /language/en/email/admin_send_email.txt but if that's not it I'd appreciate any...

Did you clear the boards cache via acp?
I just tried that and it still didn't change anything. I'm still getting

1) Spam alert
2) Message

instead of

1) Message
