Points system

<t>There is always talk about a points system for the forum, and countless extensions built and abandoned.<br/> A points system like "1 point per post" or "reputation" would be a welcome feature in phpBB that I feel a lot of other forums have already.<br/> <br/> Generally, points systems are quite b...

Re: [DEV] Ultimate Points Extension

How comes this topic was remade? Anyways: I started to work on a points mod myself (without robbery or bank) based on the ultimate points mod, but this mod has progressed way further than me! How far are you away from a phpbb database release? And also, i'm trying to keep the points from the old ver...

Re: [BETA] Ultimate Points

I started to work on a points mod myself (without robbery or bank) based on the ultimate points mod, but you guy have progressed way further than me and done a better job so I'm jumping ship here! How far are you away from a phpbb database release? And also, i'm trying to keep the points from the ol...

Smileys on external page

Hi, so I've pulled some topics to an external page on my website, but following the upgrade to 3.1 the smileys do not show: http://chao.hippotank.com/news (4th 5th and 6th posts down for examples) The parsing from the smiley code to image URL works, but instead of the regular root path defined, it a...

Is this forum using the default styles?

i.e prosilver?

And is it using phpbb 3.0.x or 3.1 ?

The reason i ask is that it looks different to my vanilla prosilver (profile to the right, etc...)

Re: How to make phpbb3 less resource intensive?

Thanks for the replies, to be honest i'm not too worried about any pressure from the host (none so far but it has been mentioned the conuery count was high in the past) but i do occasionally get slow downs and "internal server error"s when the db reads time out. So really i'm just looking for some t...

How to make phpbb3 less resource intensive?

Hi All, I was looking for some general tips/suggestions on how to make phpbb3 use less resources and make the database use less load (basically ways to optimise the forum and the db) I know the basics, make sure the latest version is used, keep mods to a minimum etc how about other housekeeping? Are...

Re: Main forums icons never marked as read

Hi guys, Thanks for the help with this, after some file and style changing, i have narrowed down the cause. It looks like Oyabun1 and Mick's first assumption was correct and it was down to the fisubsilver style being used. Why this wasn't spotted before i believe was a caching issue. Instead of dele...

Re: Main forums icons never marked as read

Haha, yeah i've checked all the topics :) also i've used the "mark all topics read", and also even "mark all topics in all forums read" buttons to clear all flags. Then when a new post comes in, and i read it, unfortunately the flag stays the same.. So, the flag clears when i manually press the mark...

I used an unchanged functions_display (only difference was a BB code edit) and still no change. Any other ideas?

Re: Main forums icons never marked as read

I've checked with pro silver. Same problem. Seems like if i read the topics manually, the "unread" flag stays on the front page. If i go into the forum and click the "mark all topics as read" button, then the front forum flag clears. I'll take a look at includes/functions_display.php and compare it ...
