utf8mb4 smilies not appearing on my phpbb3.2 install

So I was using the changes at Fix for utf8mb4 emojis to get emoji's like these working on my phpBB 3.0 install: 😷🏥🔫😕 Here's how it looked on phpBB 3.0: utf8mb4.png That's not how it looks in phpBB 3.2. includes/db/mysqli.php doesn't exist in phpBB 3.2 but phpbb/db/driver/mysqli.php does so I modifie...

Re: bad redirects when logging in

I was running PHP 5.2.8. I upgraded to 5.3.3 and am having the same problem. I have Abyss/2.6.0.0-X1-Win32 AbyssLib/2.6.0.0, PHP 5.3.3, MySQL 5.x and am running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Maybe you're running with PHP as a Apache module as opposed to through CGI? Also, when upgrading to PHP 5.3 I...

bad redirects when logging in

I log into a new phpBB3 installation (located at 127.0.0.1/phpbb) and am redirected to http://127.0.0.1/phpbb/ucp.php/phpbb/index.php?&sid=... I delete the "/phpbb/ucp.php" portion of the URL and reload the page. I then try to go to the ACP and am redirected to http://127.0.0.1/phpbb/a...

Newly Registered Users group doesn't work correctly

users register and are placed in the "Registered users" group instead of the "Newly registered users" group. yet in "User registration settings" i have "New member post limit" set to 1 - not 0. so why are they being placed in the "Registerd users" gr...

Un-ban or un-exclude usernames

You can unban (or un-exclude) multiple users in one go using the appropriate combination of mouse and keyboard for your computer and browser. Excluded users are emphasised. what does that mean? if you exclude a user from a ban how is that different than unbanning them? if you un exclude a user from...

should 2.0.x mods appear in moddb?

http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... sub=bbcode

i see lots of 2.0.x and 3.0.x mods. maybe 2.0.x mods should not be displayed since phpbb 2.0.x is no longer supported?

what is the purpose of right_id?

i was looking at phpbb_forums and am unclear what purpoise right_id serves. left_id determines the order as the make_jumpbox function makes clear and parent_id unsuprisignly determines the parent. so if you have the following: forum_id parent_id left_id right_id 1 0 1 8 2 1 6 7 3 1 2 5 4 3 3 4 looki...

No,both of native and fulltex has ALOT of problems in middle east languages (such as arabic,persian...),I was try to use native in p...

It's a shame that there has to be a MOD like Automatic Daylight Savings Time (DST).

Kind regards & more feedback later

Re: What requirements is phpBB 3 coded against?

in the commercial sector you may write a list of functional requirements and assign them accordingly. if someone does not like what they have been assigned you fire them and hire someone else who will. phpbb is not a commercial package however. phpbb is just a bunch of people donating their free tim...

Re: Discuss: Blog post about phpBB 3.0.6 plans

Like narqelion, I'd prefer to see the windows glazed before building the garage. I'd also like the option of removing some of the current "features" in v3.0.5 in order to make it leaner and meaner, if at all possible. I have absolutely no need for birthdays and very little need for ...

Re: Discuss: Blog post about phpBB 3.0.6 plans

... we don't have to call it 3.0.6 if that would solve the problem. It may. It's not clear to me why the development team have rejected the feature-frozen rationale. There were good, sound arguments for escalating the frequency of major releases and reducing their development time. It seems to me t...
