Re: Simple Colored Usergroups

I think your problem is impossible to diagnose from what you've written (at least for me), but maybe the following will help. This mod does actually work, despite the shortcomings I noted above (poor documentation, duplicate and conflicting coding). Therefore, if yours isn't working, I suspect you'v...

Re: Simple Colored Usergroups

Here is another instance of the problem outlined in 4 above. Duplicate code reference with contradictory instructions in scu_global.mod #-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------ # viewforum.php <snip> # #-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------ # $last_post_author = ( $...

Re: Simple Colored Usergroups

The instructions for this mod contain several inaccuracies and ambiguities that should be resolved to avoid confusion. In no particular order: 1. Total MOD time is reckoned at 8 minutes. Good luck if you can open and close over 24+ files and apply over 80 code changes and a DB amendment in 8 minutes...

Re: [2.0.7] Printer-friendly topic mod

Hello, Please report next time security issues directory to the MOD author or a MOD teammember. Apologies Paul, but as the MOD is so old, and because the Demo links placed in the early posts by the author no longer work, I assumed the author was no longer contactable. As your MOD report guidelines ...

Re: [2.0.7] Printer-friendly topic mod

WARNING: There appears to be a security issue in this MOD! I installed this MOD some time ago. A few days back i discovered a cached Google copy of a full discussion from a PRIVATE FORUM, rendered via this mod. I'm investigating the code further, but whereas phpBB treats Google as a Guest and doesn'...

Re: Google indexing and cache-ing 'Private Posts' ??

If the View permission is set to Private and you only give the Moderators group a view permission, Googlebot cannot see it. Hi Thanks. The View permission is Private on that section, and only the Moderators' group has permission to view. That's very reassuring, but can you please explain how that m...

Re: Google indexing and cache-ing 'Private Posts' ??

hmmmm. When viewing the forum as a guest, can you see that room. If not - what mods etc do you have installed. Might be an idea to fill in the support template. Please fill out the Support Request Template . Hi Thanks for the response I deliberately avoided the Support Template because our board is...

Google indexing and cache-ing 'Private Posts' ??

Hi After hours of searching here, as well as through other sites relating to phpBB discussions, I can't find an answer to this issue anywhere. I have a busy forum with a private 'Moderators' section. I had always assumed that the posts in there were inaccessible and inviolate, so imagine my horror w...

Search Facility Re-builder Tool

Hi After my data was moved unexpectedly between servers by incompetent technicians, my database tables became partially corrupted. Even the backups, held on server, were partly damaged. I've re-built the entire database, including the tables for phpbb, but data for one of my tables was truncated. ph...

'Recent Posts' button or link ??

I've been reading through the entire list of mods, some of which are extremely sophisticated. I'm looking for a simple mod that seems to fall close to the 'View Unposted/Unanswered Topics within N days' mod, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has already scripted the mod I'm seeking. You may be familiar...

calling an external php file from a template (.tpl) file

Hi I hope this is the right place to post this. I tried posting in the Mods section but it seems to be restricted to Admins only. If anyone knows the answer to this question, or where that answer may be in this forum, then I'd be grateful to hear it. I'm slightly modifying the header on my phpBB ins...

calling an external php file from a template (.tpl) file

Hi If anyone knows the answer to this, or where that answer may be in this forum, then I'd be grateful to hear it. I'm modifying the header on my phpBB installation and need to call a file (news.php) from outside the forum software. In the normal course of events it would be simple to include the ou...

hi niekas I've just installed you MOD without any trouble at all. It's an excellent piece of work, and something for which you should be congratulated! I know just how much hard work goes into creating a Mod so 'Thanks'. I've just begun to experience fake registrations with porn site links on my for...

HI Nathan That snippet begins at line 574 so here's a decent chunk before and after it. I have NO idea what's causing it. I didn't even know there was a problem until a few weeks ago, yet my board has been in operation for a year. I was only when i went to do some board admin - deleting some inactiv...
