Security question

Howdy folks Here's my question. I'm envisioning a specific need one of my sites would want (and others may wish) and was wondering if the new security system in phpbb3 is able to do it. User A and User B can post in forum. Neither can see the others post -- view/reply access is based on who started ...

PostgreSQL Advice

Howdy all, Well, it looks like I'm getting back into phpBB in a big way, and after I finish shifting a rather large SMF system into latest phpBB, I'm going to start learning and tinking with phpBB in the PostgreSQL environment. I'm after advice on PostgreSQL with specifics on phpBB, ideas and tips o...

Well, I tried fiddling around with the cookie settings .. and kept an eye on cookies within firefox .. and used the cookie settings recommended in the FAQ. Each time I tried something, I cleared the cookie just in case. Still am getting SID in plenty of areas. Indeed, I notice that even here, the UR...

Hehe

I'm with him :P I'm a web purist, and would like to remove the SID being posted in the URL. I have two simple reasons. One, I deal with alot of .. lets be nice here .. non technical people, who are slowly coming to terms with the web as it is, and explaining a URL is an effort let alone them even th...

Demo Site

Do You have a DEMO forum for the mod? Unless someone can post one up of theirs, no. I don't run a phpBB site at the moment. The explanation about the MOD (see above) pretty much explains what and how it works. It's a subtle change to your site, rather than a 'additional funciton' one - as such. I w...

Re: Development Halted .. Any Real Interest?

Thanks, mlimburg. Glad to hear this gets your 2.0.6 approval. I'll use it then. :) Well, be sure to post up your thoughts on the MOD, and any issues (not bugs .. issues!) you find. When I was running it, it looked sweet to me, but the more feedback I get, the more I'll develop it :) I'm watching th...

Explanation of the MOD

Okay, I'll try to keep it simple. The short answer: the MOD removes any additional whitespace created by the convertion of the text value of a topic/reply/etc into rendered HTML. And now, the long answer: When users type in a message, they like to just enter it, and not worry about how it will rende...

Development Halted .. Any Real Interest?

I've pretty much moved from phpBB2 over to XOOPS for my site needs - as I need more than a forum. Once 2.2 is out and running, I'll re-evaluate and from what I've seen so far, I just may well return to the BB flock. If there is any real interest in this MOD though, I'll reinstall the latest BB2 and ...

Not Yet

I don't think you can do that yet. Basically, there's one forum assigned to kbase, with different topics created per article. I think the idea of creating a category for kbase is a good option, but there are issues there as well. In essence, the kbase allows categories and subcategories, whilst phpb...

Array Polls!

Howdy, Okay, what I'm really after as some form of array questionaire. Access would be akin to a forum, with groups for moderators (able to create and review the poll) and users (being able to view, vote, etc). Moderators would be able to see who voted for what. My end aim (in this case) is to provi...

Thanks

That'll do fine. Basically, the mod is a single txt file, and i'll add a directory in the zip called 'optional' with files called ezportal_x.x_addon.txt and attachement_x.x_addon.txt with the required info.

Thanks dude.

Question on bundling options with MOD

Howdy y'all ... I have stepped my whitespace cleanup mod to version 1.1.0 which now supports viewing and previewing. I also want to include some optional modifications, including a process for the attachement and ezportal mods. I guess my question is, what's the official process for adding 'optional...
