Re: Update to RC4 success

The full install file is incomplete. There's like 5 or 6 files and that's it...

Upgrade Question 3.0rc2 to 3.0rc4

Hello.. It looks as if I'm behind on one release. I'm running RC2 on several forums - and I'd like to upgrade to RC4. Do I need to upload the entire package and then do a normal upgrade? I see there's an RC3 to RC4 version - but that won't work for me. Correct?

Thanks in advance...

Re: Congrats on RC1 Release!

I have to say... phpBB3 is really, really amazing. I'm Very impressed. I've used them all. I run vBulletins, Invision Power Boards and others - and this latest version of phpBB is truely amazing. I cannot believe it's free. There should be a "PayPal Donate" button within the Admin CP for all admins ...

You'll get used to it...

In order for phpBB to remain in the message board game/business - it must move onward and upward. A simple, featureless admin control panel is not going to cut it anymore. You'll either get used to phpBB3, or you'll be using phpBB2 for the rest of your life. :)

My two cents...

I've been using message boards since the mid 80s. Yes, BBSes.. I've used them all from both sides of the coin - user and admin. I run many, many, many vBulletins, Invision Boards and phpBBs. I'm a certified message board maniac. Now to make a long story short.. I'm VERY impressed with phpBB3b1.. I L...

Why?

What's the reason for deleting innactive accounts? Does it slow the system down to leave them there?

My Opinion of phpBB 2

Well. I've been using message boards since the mid 80's.. I've been a big fan of UBB since I first saw it. Then followed vBulletin - which I like even better (and Holy God, so do my users at www.80sxchange.com) - There are some pretty good free choices - Yabb is great and Ikonboard is pretty darn go...
