Re: Google Recaptcha errors

For me, a Plesk update (from within the Plesk interface) fixed the problem you described.

Re: [SOLVED] How to update database using CLI

I get the error message
[ERROR] Could not parse YAML file config.yml
My config.yml looks exactly like the one described above (with the tab), otherwise it's empty. CRLF before the last line. What can I do… :?

Re: The installer detected a timeout 3.1.10 - 3.2.1

This is a nightmare … the 3rd time (since I think 3.2.0 was released, including a RC version I needed) I have to go this complicated process of 'reinstalling' the whole board. I really hope the guys working on the update routines get a hold of these timeout errors to allow updating real-world phpBB ...

Re: Anonymizing IP's

In many board (including mine) it has come to the practice to suggest users to "anonymize" their account by entering a crazy email address and changing the password (so they won't be able to access it anymore by themselves as well). That way, posts can remain in the forum (which is prefered by forum...

Re: Anonymizing IP's

https://www.whitecase.com/publications/alert/court-confirms-ip-addresses-are-personal-data-some-cases As a webmaster/forum hoster, I'd really prefer to be able to 'forget' about such things by informing users beforehand that their IP's are 'safe' on my board (instead of having to clean up everything...

Re: Anonymizing IP's

I'm aware of the value of IP addresses for auditing purposes (double registrations etc.). However, in the EU there are strict privacy laws, and users have the right to demand their "personal information" to be deleted - IP addresses belong to personal information according to a couple of lawsuits th...

Anonymizing IP's

To increase privacy (and comply with some privacy laws) it would be great if there was an extension that would allow to anonymize user's IP numbers after a certain amount of time. The code for it already exists: https://github.com/geertw/php-ip-anonymizer Ideally, the extension would allow to config...

Re: allowing only https://.. images to be embedded with bbcode

Thanks for your feedback!! To be honest though, I don't even know that this code means or where to place it. Is message_parser.php > function bbcode_img() even still executed at all when submitting posts? I was thinking adding a simple line of code triggering an error message if an image URL ...

Re: allow only https:// avatars

Did you already find anything out?
What puzzles me is that the 'https'-URL-checking code snippet I posted in the other thread doesn't even seem to be triggered. :-o

Re: allowing only https://.. images to be embedded with bbcode

Strangely, this code doesn't seem to be executed at all?

Has this section been replaced by phpbb/textformatter/s9e or where would I check for an "acceptable" link to an image? Is anyone familiar enough with the code to be able to answer this?

thanks, r.

allowing only https://.. images to be embedded with bbcode

I'd like to allow only images from secured websites (https://) to be posted. For that, I added the following code to message_parser.php ( function bbcode_img() ): $urlchk = parse_url($in); $urlscheme = isset($urlchk['scheme']) ? $urlchk['scheme'].'://' : 'http://'; if ($urlscheme=='http://'){ $error...

Soft 404 errors for deleted users, moved threads etc.

Hello, I know this has been brought up before, dating back up to 5 (!) years. Still, however, the software doesn't seem to provide a good solution to resolve soft 404 errors for search engines. Google Webmaster tools finds "soft 404 errors" which it considers ' problematic ': https://support.google....

Re: .htaccess 301 redirect to other thread

Thanks, it works that way!

I would have preferred the shorter version, but somehow either the question mark or the equal sign in the string seems to confuse Apache. :?

kind regards
