Guests just can't use QR. I feel that this is better than simply disabling guest posting. You could add VC to QR as well. 8) Or hide " Submit " (leaving only " Preview ") button from guests. :D Don't ask me how - I don't use QR, as I believe it increases chit-chat which instead of discussion...

Does anyone know if this bot/script can use the quick reply hack(s)? I've installed the visual confirmation, but guests can post without the confirm via quick reply. QR is just a fancy way to quickly reply. :? It's a matter of interface, but the actual posting is done by the sam posting.php. 8) Hen...

Whilst I was at dinner he revisited the bot was back and posted some more. Have now enabled the visual verification, hope that helps against another user. Don't understand how he got thru though, as I set it to need an email from me when starting. Apparently sidestepped that too. It takes only few ...

You can set your registration up to where the user has to confirm the registration through the email they give you. Thats how I have it set, so when the fake email gets sent back, I realize someone is putting crap in my memberlist. I want to get their IP so I can send a letter to their provider abo...

Re: Get IP of inactive user??

MrNevets wrote: Anyway, how can I get the IP of a user who registered, but is inactive?

IPs get saved only with posts and PMs, so you can't get the IP if there are no posts and PMs by the user. :(

After upgrading, you'll have it as an additional option in Admin Panel. 8) Turn it on, log out and go to registration page - it should have "visual confirmation" part. :D

have moved these to a separate hidden forum "Trash" and needed two SQL commands for that - one to update topics table and one to update posts table. Would you mind sharing those commands pse; I am a novice sql-er. update phpbb_topics set forum_id=<trash forum id> where topic_title like '%lesbians%'...

I wouldn't do that if I were you... :? I have moved these to a separate hidden forum " Trash " and needed two SQL commands for that - one to update topics table and one to update posts table. :o You see, phpBB has some redundancy in data to improve performance. :? It is possible, but also easy to avoid. :( From simple deleting of cookies from your site to disallowing cookies from your site. :| Much less work for your troublemaker to avoid this, than for you to set it up. :( Maybe - I'm not sure - you can add to your policy strict prohibition of multiple accou...

Sorry, forgot to answer this one: ...why you've created a completely separate PHP file instead. I always make my mods that way. :D Why? :) I believe that code is easier to maintain that way, beacues calls from edited phpBB file rarely change, so my updates are almost always just a matter of uploadin...

Or you can comment out calls (two of them) of gpvc_drawPixels(...) in gpvc_generatePNG(...). 8) This is added to confuse OCRs, but I don't think some spammer will bother with OCR soon, especially because we have three different solutions out there and most people using my or Kanuck's code will keep ...
