Re: Getting hit with SPAM

The custom fields might work, I'll have to see if I can integrate it or not into the existing glue between our systems.

Getting hit with SPAM

I'm getting hit by something registering onto my forum and dumping SPAM in it and could use some help in how to deal with it. Let me give some background on my system: 1. PHPBB is connected to an ASP based website and I have a custom tool that creates the PHPBB accounts from the existing sites SQLDB...

Re: Editing overall header/footer does not show changes

Robert, Yes I'm using real tools. I maintain the server the site is running on and have remote access to the files so I don't need FTP. And for clarification I use Notepad++ as my editor which I have used since installing phpbb. I should add that this was not a problem the last time I edited the fil...

Subscription Function needs to be in header by default

I don't know where else to post this since it's not a mod request and not a feature request but rather a usability suggestion. Why is the 'Subscribe Forum/Topic' link at the bottom of the page where novice users can not find it. Can it not be replicated in the header file as well by default? I'm con...

Editing overall header/footer does not show changes

This is just wierd and I'm baffled by what is happening. I am attempting to edit the overall_header file but my changes are not reflected. I've tried adding simple plain text and even that does not show up. I've tried killing browser sessions, et al and still nothing. I'm looking for any ideas about...

Re: Making Subscriptions Obviouse for Novice Users

I don't use WYSIWYG editors. Textmate on my mac and Notpad++ on PC. The invisible ascii characters where part of the style template I think, hence the problem we where having trying to find the damn things.

Re: Making Subscriptions Obviouse for Novice Users

The test and the point to the code reference was what I needed. It was not showing up in xabblue style but the code snipit was there. I copied the code from the ProSilver style and got it to work. I'm wondering if the problem was related to an earlier issue I was having there invisible ASCII charact...

[Split from] 3.0.0 to 3.0.2?

Here's an alternate question on the same subject:

I don't have any MODS installed (alt theme used) but I have a bunch of customizations in the layout to integrate into our existing site. Does anyone know what all the 3.0.3 update installs? Does it overwrite all code or is it DB patch?

Re: Need Help Solving A 'Cannot modify header' Error

I had the encoding set to UTF-8 but changing it to w/o BOM seemed to do the trick. I had made the UTF-8 explicit since I had found that an issue in the past. Thanks for the assist!
