Re: What if 2 file attachments are the same ?

Same applies for one user uploading an image twice. You will need to prevent regular users from having permission to attach images if this concerns you that much, or just accept that it's possible to upload duplicates which takes up more disk space than necessary.

Re: Let's make phpBB look cleaner

I agree. I loved using phpBB back in 2002. It was the best forum software. Fast forward to today, there are other competitive forum softwares out there with cleaner UI. That said, I'm still looking at potentially using it in one of my future projects. Just thought I'll make known what my thoughts a...

Re: PhpBB vs Vbulletin vs xenforo

I won't lie, I kind of liked the simplicity of phpBB 2 when that was around, but compared to vBulletin and XenForo, phpBB is still an excellent choice and always has been. I have used XenForo and I quite like the software. I can't say the same for vBulletin though - the admin panel is just an absolu...

You mean software-wise? TextPad Community still operates on phpBB 2.
Man, I kind of miss the simplicity of phpBB 2 :(.

Re: phpbb website

The principle of publishing the source code for the phpBB website isn't intended to allow people to make clone websites as you suggest, but rather to allow people to freely contribute to help improve the phpBB website, learn from the source code or even use components from the source code in your ow...

Re: GDPR regulations

The GDPR is confusing at best, and it covers more than just cookies. That is exactly the torture I have been dealing with at work for the past three months. My god, no one has a clue what the regulations really mean right now. To make matters worse, we get conflicting advice from different lawyers ...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

phpBB has got to be my favourite in all bulletin boards out of a lot I've tried. I liked phpBB2 for its simplicity and huge base of MODs but after spending a few hours trying to figure out how to use the admin panel features, got to say phpBB3 is pretty impressive. phpBB3 is just as easy to style as...

Re: Windows 7 is behind you! Yawnn...

Although I shouldn't, I've been using Windows 7 days on end without problems...although I couldn't stick with IE8 crashing all the time so I installed Google Chrome which works fine. The new taskbar where icons are only displayed is quite innovative especially for those that have lots of Windows ope...
