Re: Start DataBase Restore - Just shows blank screen

Hi Again. Thanks for you replies. i appreciate that you guys took the time to write, however as i stated in my post, i am using a windows server with MS SQL not MySQL. actually.. i got tired of screwing with this and just wrote my own database backup program. a completley web based backup tool. it c...

Re: Is there an UNInstall ?

Yea.. i will likely do a manual drop.. or write a script to do it. The safety factor is that in a live production environment, you dont want to do something that has the possibility to end up with an accidental result. (like i did with the install) and when you want to un install, you want to make s...

Re: Is there an UNInstall ?

key word... "database" yes I know how to delete through FTP, but that's only files. thanks

as far as the same prefix.... I did not put in a prefix, I left it blank experimenting.
I know I can drop tables, but just thinking that an uninstall would be cleaner/safer if it exists.

Thanks.

Is there an UNInstall ?

Question. is there an uninstall program for phpBB ?

I accidentally cluttered up a database that I didn't want to, now I would like to rip out phpBB and was curious if I have to do it manually or if there is an UNinstaller ?

Re: How to relink to another database?

in the root of your forums software, there is a file, "CONFIG.PHP" if you open that (MAKE A BACKUP FIRST) and change the database information it will point to the old database. that is also where you put the table prefix. once you do that you should alo purge teh program cache. your host s...

Re: How do I get rid of 5000 PMs?

Just FYI... read my post about 5 above.

that code shown does not look like it will reset the message counters, or it deltes PM's from inactive users. it looks like it is strictly based on date. you may have active users loosing old PM's

Start DataBase Restore - Just shows blank screen

Ok... here is the deal. I installed a fresh copy of phpBB. Went to ACP maintenance and did a full backup. (structure and data, Gzip, store only, all database tables) am trying to move to a new database server... soo... i deleted the config.php in the root... left all other files sitting as is. went ...

Full Database Backup - Real Simple

I would do this myself, except that I am an ASP guy and am only learning PHP. so it may be really sloppy if I tried it. I would like to get the "ACP - Backup" feature modified to include 1 additional question. "Show Database Tables : " with 2 options. 1) phpBB Only. 2) Full Datab...

Re: Backup/Restore of Full Database - not just forums

Well.. here is what I found out. I reinstalled phpBB and left the "table prefix" empty. When I logged into the ACP and went to do a backup, I was in fact able to select every table in the database including tables that are not part of phpBB. I was able to do a full backup of the entire dat...

Backup/Restore of Full Database - not just forums

Aloha ! I have been experimenting with the Forums and its going pretty good. I have a few questions though. I can probably figure it out by reinstalling and starting all over, but wanted to see if anyone knew the answers already.. 1) When doing the installation it asks for database table prefix. Is ...

Re: Yahoo Groups Migration

Actually... i would be interested in this as well. I am in the process of building up our new forums to replace and do away with yahoo groups. the org i am working with has been using yahoo for about 5 years now, so there may be a pile of data to move. Once it is in a database, Access or mysql.. we ...

Re: Tracking user access IP's

basically your looking for a full user/visitor activity log. Is this on the web or an internal network ? Im rather new with this system, but dont see anything in it right now that looks like it stores the data in an ongoing basis. there is a "_sesions" table that looks like it only holds c...
