I want to delete the posts due to copyright issues.

I solved the problem by restarting the deletion several times..

Deleting a user with 10k+ posts?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to delete a user with more than 10k posts on a 1M posts 3.0.7 board. I've started the process via ACP but it looks like it crashes my database. The query runs for more than 1100 seconds so far and other queries are locked. Do I just have to wait til the process ends or is the...

Re: FAQ: phpBB 3.0.7-PL1 ATOM feed

I've activated feeds for my forum. Everything works fine using Firefox. But no other reader can handle the feed. Furthermore Internet Explorer recognizes the feed but doesn't display any entries. I've validated the feed and no error occurs. The feed of phpbb.com works fine with FF and IE so I guess ...

Rewrite any http://cgi.ebay.com/************ link to the affiliate link using JavaScript. It adds a view pixel to count the number a special link is viewed by board users.

Hi Stoepie, thanks a lot for this interesting mod. I haven't tested it yet, but I was looking for such a mod for a long time. Can you please explain what to edit here? $validate = array ( array ( 'group_id' => (int) 2, // Groupnumber having access to the particular forum_id 'forum_id' => (int) 3 // ...

Re: Email on Birthday

It doesn't work for me. Emails are sent several times to a user that birthday was one day before.... if ( sizeof($bd_list_ary) && $config['birthday_run'] < mktime(0, 0, 0, $nowvar['mon'], $nowvar['mday'], $nowvar['year']) && $config['birthday_emails'] ) { set_config('birthday_run', mktime(0, 0, 0, $...

Re: Moderator Needed

This is a really nice mod but it lags on my forum.
I've already cached the queries for some time (~30 minutes) but a lag of 5 up to 15 seconds really disappoint my moderators.
Is there any possibility to speed it up?

[URL] replace doesn't work properly

I've noticed that replacing the (url) (/url) bbcode doesn't work properly on my board If there are 2 spaces or a dot in the link the bbcode will not be replaced. Example #1: works fine [url=http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bizeps]biceps brachii[/url] Example #2: doesn't work [url=http://de.wikipedia.org...

Re: [3.0.x] Tweaks for large forums

I've already disabled search function for guests and it is allowed for registered users every 120 seconds :(

I gues it would help if searching stops after 5.000 hits instead of listing every result.

Re: Fulltext mysql - How long does indexing take?

On a 900k post board, it might take a few hours to index all the posts, it depends on the server configuration. Fulltext native indexing took ~12 hours. Fulltext mysql indexing took ~30 minutes. The problem was that I couldn't run the script via web browser because of time limitation. The server ad...

Re: [3.0.x] Tweaks for large forums

I've tested the search function for over a week now. It usually locks my data base. I've used fulltext native and fulltext mysql and also changed some tables to innodb. I don't know what to do next. The only idea is to disable the search function. But then my forum isn't a forum anymore :( Would it ...

Fulltext mysql - How long does indexing take?

I've started indexing with fulltext mysql. "Prozess list" of mysql shows this entry: ALTER TABLE phpbb3_posts ADD FULLTEXT ( post_subject ), MODIFY post_text mediumtext COLLATE utf8_unico It has this status: Repair by sorting After 10 minutes, indexing stopped with an general sql error. I've continu...
