I love Smartor's Gallery and have been using it for a while. The problem we are getting to is that the photo album is really eating up a lot of server resources. Anyone else experience this? I just wonder if we used a different gllaery if it could handle the load better. blondeofmind, I would check ...

Test Forum

I agree and would suggest having a live and test forum up. It gives you a chance to see exactly how everything is going to look and if it works.

I could not imagine how much down time we would have if we did not run a test forum.

I can not remeber the exact field names off the top of my heads but I beleieve you can do it in MySQL. Go to the users table and switch the default for the notify field from false to true.

digiloo, you most likely need to run:

Code: Select all

REPAIR TABLE phpbb_users;
I had the same issue a while back.

I agree with Young~Money that you probably should add some recognition to phpBB. I would think you would be able to use the emoticons for your forum under the license

To allow sites not to show you could edit the following files:

memberlist_body.tpl
profile_view_body.tpl

This would still allow a site to be added when signing up or in the profile but if you remove the section for the site to show then others will not be able to view the site.

Another place I like to add a link to the homepage is in the {SITE_DESCRIPTION} section. You can have the image link go to the forum home and the text link to the site home.

Is it all users or just certain users? If it is only certain ones my guess would be some type of scumware program they have on their pc.

login

A_Jelly_Doughnut, you are GREAT!! I was having this problem also with upgrades to 2.0.6 and tried out the suggestion and it works great!! I still do not understand why the original settings I had in 2.0.4 will not work but it looks good to go now!

boon.cc, did this take care of your issue also?

I would say it is timing out on the upload. If you have shell access you can try to do it through the command line. If not, you can break the file up into smaller peices and add them to the db one at a time.

In your .htaccess file for the directory you have the board installed put the following:

Code: Select all

DirectoryIndex search.php

Wanted to add you may want to check the other tables for errors. I had the same error awhile back and had other tables that ended up having the same issue.
