How do I remove the "who is online" and everything under the "Statistics" header except for the newest member part?

register_globals still appears to be enabled when I install

I am trying to install phpBB3 and when I went to install it said that register_globals in enabled and that I should disable it. So I contacted my host to disable it then they disabled it for my account then I went back to the installation page and it still says that register_globals is enabled... Wh...

Parse error when I try to install phpbb

I just uploaded the "phpBB3" folder to the server and when I went to try and install it I immedietly got this error message.
"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/carlung/public_html/phpBB3/includes/functions.php on line 3702"

How do I remove the "topics" and "posts" count columns

I do not want my message board to display how many topics and posts are in each forum, how can I get rid of the columns which display that? and also the part down the bottom where it displays how many articles the forum has.
