I even changed the amount of deleted rows from 50 to 250 I am watching my session table in phpmyadmin...when it gets to about 2200 rows or so, ...

phpbb_sessions table warning message in phpmyadmin

I seem to be having some problems with the sessions tables and I am wondering if this could be it. Thank you so much for your responses (especially from the legendary lanzer!) I currently am running one dual xeon 3ghz server with 1GB of ram. The server load seems very low at all times. I currently avg about 200 PHPBB users online at once. My only problem at this point seems to be the table lockin...

mySQL vs Postgre for larger PHPBB forums (locked tables?)

I've been getting a lot of locked tables in my PHPBB mySQL DB and I am wondering if this can be fixed by moving to postgre. The locked tables are bring my site to a crawl, and the DB eventually crashes.
My site averages around 200 online forum users at a time...

Thanks.

What I want to know is:

1) How do protect myself from this happening again?
2) Is it safe to put my forum back up once i erase the code from the config table?
