I just tested that, and it didn't show the smilie. It just replaced it with exact text. I think the smilie conversion function works before the word censor, so it doesn't catch it.

So you're thinking of something like a button that might say "ignore" that could appear on each post, but when you click it, it would have the effect of hiding all posts made by that user from you when you are logged in? That could possibly help, but I don't know how much. You are also dealing with ...

There a number of mods available already that can help you deal with trolls. Some have different features, so check out these and see which fits your needs best. Tarb Abuse tool. Instead of actually banning a user, his posts are made invisible to everyone but himself, so he doesn't even know he's be...

Oops, I didn't look closely enough at the original post. Its sub forums/categories you are talking about. I would look at the link Graham offered. Unless the topic is locked, you should be able to reply to it, and the author will most likely respond.

Sounds like you are talking about using named anchors inside a post. If you enabled HTML in posting, someone could do it that way, but I'm guessing you are looking for a different way. I remembered seeing this same concept discussed before. The guy was looking to use it for an FAQ, but the real func...

Out of curiosity, would anyone even want a mod like this? I am using 2.0.4 and I've modded it so much that I don't want to upgrade right now, so this mod would be for 2.0.4 if I make it. Or maybe if people do have an interest in it, and they want it for 2.0.5, I could share the code with some other ...

Advanced Censor Options - need input

I am going to make a new mod for my forum with more options and control than what I've found so far. No offense to those who have written mods for the censor feature in the past, they were great. I am just finding I want to have even more control over how the censor works than I get with those mods ...

you should post on that topic and ask the question, or read it and see if someone has already answered it.

Your script is not PHP, its Javascript, so the php delimiter tags encapsulating it would cause errors. I don't know if phpBB templates will allow javascript in them without modification, but if they do, you can change your script to something like this, and it would probably work. <script> var flash...

I haven't used the MOD, but just looking at it, I think that instruction means that you need to look through the files that come with the mod, and set the $phpbb_root_path = './'; to whatever it is supposed to be on your site. You can look at some other files that are already working on your forum t...

Sounds like what you want to do is include the signature into the post message in the topic table in the db. You would also have to change the viewtopic.php file to no longer pull the signature from the db at all. All it would need to do is output the post message and the sig for that time period wo...

That is a cool mod. You should put all the files in a ZIP and then just make that available to d/l.

somehow you need to make the server root of the address dynamic, so that it will be defined accordingly based on how the user got to the site.

let me investigate and I'll post back on it...

I think you could probably do it one way at least, by looking in the database to see the user ID of this special user, and then in the php code for the pages that show the username, you could add an if statement that basically says, "if the user id of the person logged in equals the special user's u...
