Thanks Amigo.
I will get them to log out and back in and hope it's a permanent fix.

Re: Is "view new posts" controlled by cookies?

Ok, so it might not be cookies after all. WHERE t.topic_last_post_time > ' . $user->data['user_lastvisit'] So the users table should be updated with the users last visit time and that is used for the search. It does look like there might be an issue. This is interesting: PostPosted: Tue Aug 16, 2016...

Is "view new posts" controlled by cookies?

In the last couple of days, I have a few users on one of my websites saying that the list of topics in the "view new topics" search is getting longer and longer because it's still showing topics that are not actually new since their last visit. I have changed nothing on the website in a fa...

Re: Help getting started on search modification

I know how that works Robert, but I prefer to see the topics active over the day because I will log in using different devices and like a consistent view across them.

Re: Help getting started on search modification

Thanks David.
No big deal if it takes some time. I can get by without it.

I'm not sure about other users on my forum, but I used this "searchback" mod all the time. My default link to the site was to look at topics modified in the last 24hrs.

Re: Help getting started on search modification

Thank you rxu. That is a shame that nothing is currently available.
So I should request a new event?

Help getting started on search modification

Hi all, I have started writing a mod to do some search modification. In phpBB 3.0 I used the searchback extension, which doesn't seem to exist in 3.1. Basically, I want to create a new search_id for search.php in addition to "newposts" for example. This search option will allow the user to...

SearchBack (search by time) for 3.1?

I've been trying to find a 3.1 extension with the ability to search back by a time period, but can't seem to find anything. Is there an extension that you know about that I haven't been able to find? If need be, I will try to develop an extension to do this, but right now I have zero experience with...

Re: whois administration function not working

Looks like selinux on a centos server stops httpd being able to make outbound connections.
Will post the fix soon.

Re: whois administration function not working

Screenshot attached.

I might make a backup of php.ini and copy one from another server to see if that fixes it.

Re: whois administration function not working

I will post a screenshot when I get home.
I control this server so can make any changes necessary. I just can't find the issue yet.

[SOLVED] whois administration function not working

Hi all, I've just moved a couple of phpbb3 forums to a new web host, and the whois function has stopped working. My immediate suspicion is a PHP option missing, but url_fopen is On. I can also telnet from the server to port 43 at arin.whois.net, so it's not a network issue. Is it only fopen that's r...

Re: Email addresses being removed in PMs?

To be fair, in view of this: Actually I think I have found the culprit. Users complained about links not opening in new windows, so I followed this: https://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/links-opening-new-windows this: - diff between a clean install and my files show no differences could be considered n...
