Re: Admin Forum Hacked Into!

The permission is set as Mod/Hidden for all purposes.
This new user DID in fact post in it, so......

The only other thing I can think could have happened was he got into the database, and changed his permissions back?
Doubtful....

Re: Admin Forum Hacked Into!

Yeah, permissions and everything are fine.
Seeing as he was listed as user, I'm a little more at ease.
Might need to upload a password mod for that forum or something.

Re: Admin Forum Hacked Into!

Got it.
Uploaded your latest version.
The offender was listed simply as "user", so I'm at a loss to figure out how he accessed that forum, and how to prevent getting hacked in the future.

Re: Admin Forum Hacked Into!

I have that, but for some reason the password there doesn't work any longer.
Thought it was same as my username log-in??
Now I'm wondering if that is part of it.

Admin Forum Hacked Into!

Somebody signed up today and managed to post (porn) in our admin/moderator forum.
The poster stated he was using his "Admin priveleges".

We always upgrade as soon as possible, so I can't figure out where a vulnerability might be hiding.

Any suggestions??

That's sort of what I've been thinking as well.

Re: Guest See Only First Post

Can we assume this mod drastically limits the content that search engines will see as well?
It seems it would encourage guests to register, but our boards get a GREAT DEAL of traffic from searches.

Any ideas on this theory?

Re: [RC] Minimum Posts to View Topics

This looks interesting.
A couple questions for anyone that may know:

Does this prevent search engine bots from indexing our posts?
Seems that it would.

Also-
I'm trying to find a mod that allows guests to only view "partial" responses in threads without logging-in.
Any ideas?

Re: Limit Posts Per Member?

That looks pretty cool.
Can anyone come up with a line of code to make it forum specific?

Or maybe I can make it so only X number of posts can be made to a specific forum by all in a given timeframe?
That sounds more complicated.......the previous one sounds more achievable.
:D

Limit Posts Per Member?

I have a member that goes crazy posting in a specific off-topic forum on our site, and it is driving members nuts.
Is there a way to LIMIT the number of posts a member can make to a SPECIFIC forum/category in one day?

Re: New Post Indicators Stopped Working

Seems their cookies will take hold soon enough and they will stay logged in.
Not certain the new post indicators are working yet, however.

Thanks much for that tool....I hope it helps cure whatever is ailing the site.

Re: New Post Indicators Stopped Working

Did everything listed, and now users are logged out after every action (i.e.....reading a post).

Re: New Post Indicators Stopped Working

I understand that, but perhaps there is something that needs to be edited in one of the files as well as in the ACP?
Before changing the url and cookies in the ACP, everything was fine...
