Re: Newly Registered User Group Function Not Working

Thanks, we've applied the role permissions to all the forums for that new registration group. We'll do some testing and make sure it works.

Re: Newly Registered User Group Function Not Working

No, our address is not in our profile, that is another website I visit.

But, I'll bring that up to that boards admin.

So, back to my queue questions, why wouldn't it function like it should?

Re: Newly Registered User Group Function Not Working

We already have Q&A's setup.

But we still notice new users being able to post without going to the queue. This is just not for spam prevention but to help moderate the board more easily.

What would cause it to not function, when setup?

Newly Registered User Group Function Not Working

To stop the on-slot of spam, we upgraded our forum to the latest release: 3.0.9. We did a complete full package upgrade, so that any template changes on the old system would be removed. We did the upgrade, which went fine and replaced all the file with the ones provided during the upgrade. But, to m...

Re: SQL Statement to update Text within 'post_text' field.

We have another DB that we need to update and for some odd reason, the following query will not parse? UPDATE phpbb3_posts SET post_text = (REPLACE (post_text, ‘/press_releases/’, ‘/press-releases/’)); We keep getting the following error: #1054 - Unknown column '‘' in 'field list' However, the pos...

SQL Statement to update Text within 'post_text' field.

We have recently update our web site and need to update over 4000+ post that have a URL that is no longer valid. We need to find and replace just that URL to point to the new location. We tried the following SQL statement, but it did not work. What is wrong with it? UPDATE post_text SET DBpost_text ...

Group Permission - Newly Registered Users

I'm been playing around with the group permissions and see that we have three for registered users. My question is, what determines who is a Newly Registered User vs. a Registered User. Does it go by number of post, active time (5 days) and were can you set those parameters to determine how they are...

Thanks for all the help, we have finally figured out how to set the permission properly for what we need.

There's was a small learning curve on the permission system!

Re: Give Standard Admin 'Sticky Topic' Ability

Groups permissions, Administrators, Select type Global Moderator permissions, Go, Advanced Permissions, Topic Actions, set to Yes the permissions you want admins to have and click submit. That's my problem, I don't see that option there. The only options I have are these: Can lock topics Can merge ...

Give Standard Admin 'Sticky Topic' Ability

I've been trying to figure out how to give 'Standard Admin' the 'Sticky Topic' ability. I've went through all the admin screens and cannot find or figure out how to do this.

Has anyone else done this and if so, walk me through it?

Re: Delete Users, But Private Messages Remain

So we took the extra step and deleted this user from the DB completely, What does that mean, exactly? Because when you delete a user through the ACP, you DO delte it from the database completely. Deleting things from the database directly is a recipe for trouble. Here is what I would do instead of ...

Delete Users, But Private Messages Remain

We had a spammer show up and send out a ton of PM and topics with a link to a spam site. We have since deleted all of this users post/topics. All their post were removed, however, we are still getting reports from users about private messages from this user. We have confirmed that Private Messages d...
