how to dynamically change the description metatag

How does one get the 'description' metatag to be changed for each post, so the description is actually relevant to each post? A lot of my google search results have the 'title' correct for the post (take from the title tag), but uses the general home page description from description metatag in the ...

Re: How to get rid of the "f=" query string

Thanks Adam, That might not be the cause of my SE ranked page taking the clicker of the link to the wrong post. Guess what my analytics 'bounce rate' is on those. Exactly, 100%. Plus it brands my domain negatively. I might have fixed the problem when I removed the 'view previous' and 'view next' pos...

Re: How to get rid of the "f=" query string

It is redundant. Look at this page you're on: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=1286535 Now remove the f=46& http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=1286535 It's the same thing. Two urls pointing to the same resource. The f parameter is unnecessary, but worse yet, da...

How to get rid of the "f=" query string

How do I get rid of the "f=" query string in the url?
It seems to be redundant and useless.

Plus it screws up all my google indexing if I move the post to another forum.

What's the best way to modify the code so it doesn't generating that "f=" key/value pair in the url anymore?

Re: [BETA] Page Title Number MOD

The use of the same title from page to page may be misinterpreted as duplicate pages in the eyes of search engine bots such as Google.

That might have been true in 1999. lol

Re: google search instead of phpbb3 search ?

I just added the google search box code (from my adsense account) to the header.
I'm looking for a MOD to see other nice ways to do it, layout-wise etc.
If one exists let me know.

Re: 3.0.2 MOD for HTML

html is strictly forbidden for very good reasons - all html!

LOL, dude, if you're such an expert, how is <table> or <strong> a security risk?
Exactly.
The previous posters have legitimate concerns.

remove from displaying: Google Adsense [Bot]

On the bottom of the page I see this sometimes:
Registered users: Google Adsense [Bot],

As an admin I don't mind seeing this, but my users definitely don't need to see this.
What's the best way to remove this from ever displaying?
Thanks.

How to allow keyboard 'tabs' in post

Is there a way to do a tab (the keyboard stroke) in a post and also have it show properly after being posted, or is some kind of MOD needed to get this behavior?

Thanks.

Re: can't find smilies section in ACP.

Thanks, but that's kind of a bitch, typing in the Smiley Code, Emotion, and Add checkbox for 82 new smilies.

Is there a version 3 floating around somewhere?
Or is there a kick ass pack out there that I don't know about?

Thanks.

Re: can't find smilies section in ACP.

Thanks, I found it. I uploaded the smilies and "smiles.pak" file. I click the "install smilies package" link. I select "replace matches" dialog box. I click the "install smilies package" button. I get this error: Information The specified package does not cont...

can't find smilies section in ACP.

Hi, I can't find the smilies section in the ACP.
It's not here that I see:

Administration Control Panel > General Admin > Smilies section

I'm trying to add a smilies pak.
Thanks.

emailed on PM, how to email whole message?

When I get an email that I've been PMed, I only get emailed the subject of the PM.
Is there a way to change it so I get emailed the whole message?
Thanks.

note for Forum or Topic?

I notice a section where an admin can leave notes for a user, but can one store notes (ie metadata) about a Forum or Topic?
Thanks.
