Re: [BETA] Restrict Username

Too bad, since I intend to continue using 2.0.x for a while longer. :(

I hope you or someone else can find time to finalize this mod. :D

By any chance does anyone know where the current version can be downloaded at least?

I noticed that a couple of people were asking about WordPressMU. I know in my particular situation that I needed a multi-user blog with phpBB, so I went with LifeType. It works very well, and many templates, and already integrates with phpbb with several ways of offering each member their own blog. ...

You can adjust the hours in the software, but it is possible that the server that the software is hosted on has the wrong date. If that is the case, the server time/date will need to be corrected before you can get everything in order.

I am looking at it for a very similar reason. I have the LifeType blog software integrated with phpbb. I have it setup in such a way that when a user creates a blog, they can acess it by gonig to http://username.domain.com. But as you can imagine, that means the the username shouldn't have things in...

One very easy way to do this is with a rank image. Simply make a custom rank with rank image the size of the avatar, and then disable that person's ability to use an avatar. Then go in, and apply that rank to that user. The result is something that looks exacly like an avatar, but the user is not ab...

You could use this mod: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=407279

Or you could simply edit the overall_header.tpl and change this code to whatever you please:

Code: Select all

<a name="top"></a>

<table width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="10" border="0" align="center">

To change these images, upload and replace the ones on the server. That is the only way.

Most free hosts don't let you do this though. And if that is the case, you can't change these things.

If you don't know how to do this, or if you don't know if you can do this, contact your host.

Well from what I understand, the software works a bit like this: You type in your password, an algorithm is applied to what you type in, and if the hash matches the hash in the database, you are granted access. The software doesn't actually decode what it in the database, but rather checks to see if...

Phpbb uses a one way encryption. Technically speaking, it is exceptionally difficult to decrypt that. You cannot use that to login because it is a hash of your login.

If I understand your question correctly, in most cases your database host would be localhost. If it is something different, your hosting provider will usually tell you so. The rest of your database information depends on what information you used to create the database and database user.

The three on the index you would edit index_body.tpl.
The eight on the forum view page, you would edit viewforum_body.tpl.

The last table at the bottom of viewforum_body.tpl dictates the icon sizes that you mentioned.
