Re: Update Problems (3.08 to 3.09)

Thanks for your reply - my first attempt returned a 500 error. I'll try again, but I've checked my work, and it should have worked if it was going to.

Re: Update Problems (3.08 to 3.09)

After speaking with hosting support, I've been told I can "extend the timeout limit as set on the php.ini file in the update package". The person with whom I spoke was relaying information, and I don't think what I heard was correct, but where can I change/extend the "timeout limit" in any of the ph...

Re: Update Problems (3.08 to 3.09)

I appreciate your help!

Is this a common problem with boards hosted on GoDaddy servers?

Would it be worth my time to ask that they make a change to the configuration of the server, to allow for a longer script?

Thanks again!

Update Problems (3.08 to 3.09)

Using the automatic update package for 3.08 to 3.09 (MD5: e5648147787c5413783bf81dea2c4fc7), I'm encountering an error during the "Check Files" phase. I select "check files", and it hangs at 28, then returns an 500 Internal Server Error. I'm using non-default themes and a Portal plugin; would this h...

Latest post first - thread specific?

Can anyone point me to a setting or module that will allow me to set a thread to display the latest posts first, by the thread and not board-wide?

Eerie post - posted as Admin

Current board version: phpbb 3.0.4 I had a post on my board a few days ago which rather startled me, and I'm wondering if I have anything to worry about, or if there is anything I can do to avoid this in the future. The post was clearly spam, a block of text consisting of web addresses, etc. The pos...

Re: [Beta] AJAX Chat/Shoutbox MOD 2.0.0 Beta 8

I have a functioning installation of the Shoutbox on my board, but I the entries are appearing in a strange and staggered format.

Has anyone seen this problem, and if so, is there a way to rectify it?

Thank you, in advance.

Avatar settings for multiple styles in one forum

I have a forum in which the default style exists for most of the board, but for one area of the forum, I use another style. I'm now seeing avatars that are fine for the default style, overlapping with the border on the other style. Is there a way to change the avatar settings for the other style? Wh...

Odd style issue - Brackets and underscores on many things

I cannot recall what change I made to my board before this began, but I am seeing brackets and underscores on every default text. Is this the table categories for some reason displaying in the format the table reads them? For example, at the top I see: {index} {profile} {FAQ} {Search_by_adv} {member...

Re: Deleting PMs from a single user

Reference for future trouble-shooters of this issue: I could technically strong-arm what I need to do, by changing the disabled user's password, logging into their account, deleting PMs in the Outbox, and leaving the account generally disabled. I just wonder if there is a less invasive, less manual ...
