Skipping "Agree to terms" page on registration

Is there a way to skip the terms page at registration? So the user would click register and be taken straight to the screen where they would fill out their username, password, etc.

Thanks in advance. :)

Re: Password protected forum - remember password

But doesn't that involve giving individuals access to the group? Sorry, this was mentioned before about groups and I can't quite get my head around how its supposed to work. If a member is logged in, can they see the "hidden" topic titles? Then if they click to read that topic, they would have to j...

Re: Forgot Password and Forgot Username

There is a "Forgot Password" feature in phpBB3 already. ;)

Board index => login => "I forgot my password"

Re: Password protected forum - remember password

Is there any way that when you have a forum password protected that a member only has to do it once? At present every time a member logs off they have to go re-enter the password as the posts in the "whats New" don't show up until they have done this. It would probably be easier to create a group w...

Re: Copyright

In /language/langhere/common.php find:

(I'm guessing this is in language/en_us/common.php)

Code: Select all

'TRANSLATION_INFO' => 'some stuff and copyright in here',
toward the top and change it to

Code: Select all

'TRANSLATION_INFO'      => '',

Changing the Terms of Use url

Is it possible to change the url users are taken to when they click on "Terms of Use" or "Privacy Policy" on the Login page? So instead of it sending the users to /ucp.php?mode=terms it would send them to a different url? I know that you can edit the terms of use through the language files, but that...

Re: Adjusting for Incorrect Server Time

Ok, so changing the variable names does not work, it makes the board unreadable. But I did find a solution very similar. You change the values of the variables. Note that this works with many timezones but not all and can create a bit of a problem for certain less standard zones. Change this: 'tz' =...

How so? I'm not quite sure I know what you mean.

@stevemaury

Thanks, I thought something like that might work but I wasn't at all sure. I'll try it and see. :D

Re: Adjusting for Incorrect Server Time

Maybe it's possible to just change the language files a little bit to make it display correctly? Just an idea.

Re: Adjusting for Incorrect Server Time

Well, there are still problems with that. It does display the correct time however:

1. It sill says "All times are UTC - 3" when they really are UTC - 7
2. If a user wants to change their timezone it is still 4 hours off and somewhat confusing for them.

Thanks for the try.
