Re: General Error clearing cache

That's what I thought. I did a search on my entire /forums directory looking for the text "abbcode" in all the files, and the only file popping up is in the cache directory, so I fear there is a variable with the value of abbcode being stored in the DB somewhere. I'll try the MOD authors t...

Reply preview in subscription email notifications

Maybe I am missing something here, but there is no option for this I can find. On vbulletin, when I get an email for a thread I am getting subscription notices on, it will give a preview of the first full reply on the topic. Anything like that for phpBB yet? I searched "preview", "sub...

Re: Explain the "refresh" options for the Styles tab in ACP

Got it all figured out. I have webmin running on my server which has a remote editor built in so I can edit the files live on the server. Thanks!

Re: Explain the "refresh" options for the Styles tab in ACP

That is why we always recommend style editers to edit the files, rather than editing in the ACP. When you say "style editor", you're just saying to manually edit the file rather than using ACP > Styles > Themes, correct? If so, then thats cool and I'll do that. What about refreshing the i...

Explain the "refresh" options for the Styles tab in ACP

So while trying to fix and AutoMOD problem (which is solved now) I came across a strange issue. For starters, I am currently running 3.0.8, and when I reinstalled AutoMOD I also installed the latest UMIL (not sure if the UMIL update has any bearing on the issue, but thought I'd mention it). Now, whi...

Re: Status: Error on lots of mods on the file copy steps

I may do the chown option as I do not have an FTP server running on my host (which is a VPS), but am running sftp. Edit: OK, so changing the owner to my aparche runtime user worked. It allowed me to change the AutoMOD method to Direct write method, and then ban hammer install successfully. Only a mi...

Re: Status: Error on lots of mods on the file copy steps

Bump. I recently went through the permissions on my entire VPS and am still just getting the Error status. I am now on 3.0.8 and still testing this with Ban Hammer mod...

Re: Status: Error on lots of mods on the file copy steps

If it helps, my apache2.conf has the following (I changed the names of the users and groups as I do not know how harmful it is to post my actual names: APACHE_RUN_USER=USER APACHE_RUN_GROUP=USER Then, the actual user and group that owns the entire web root directory User: USER2 Group: USER2 So... wo...

Re: Status: Error on lots of mods on the file copy steps

Well as mentioned in my first post, I chmod'ed all files and directories per http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/chmod-permissions/, and additionally set store, files, cache to 777. When I initially setup the virstual server, I created a user whose home directory was the web root for the domain, but for...

Re: Status: Error on lots of mods on the file copy steps

When I try Direct it says file system is not writable, which is odd because I've checked the permissions on the folders for banhammer and all have at least owner and group as write permissions
