I'd have to say that I think the way that's done in Malaysia sounds very beneficial. If nothing else, even if you don't really remember how to do the things, you have the framework there. If you decide to learn later, that framework can help to make it much easier than otherwise. Of course, without...

Here in Malaysia we have a subject called "Living Skills". All students take it in primary (Grade 1-6) and secondary school (Grade 7-9). I can't really remember what they thought in the first few years, because we had a syllabus change when i reached grade 2. I do remember in primary school we learn...

I thought the whole idea of naming it as "reverse-elitism" is because it uses elitism against itself. It is not exactly elitism because it is using the opponent's elitism to undermine his points. As said, this of course isn't a good way of debating/discussing but it surely does help people troll.

that is because image maps are bad for accessibility, imagine someone who is blind or using a text browser trying to navigate an image map.

Its possible to create an image map look-a-like that is accessible. Take a look at this example

i have no idea either, its a huge inconvenience. I heard its coming back in xhtml 2.0.

Now i would like to ask, have you come across a neat solution to some BBcode problems that xhtml1.1 creates? For example font color and sizes.

wGEric wrote: Use javascript instead of target.

Edit: oops, the post above me points to a good article using javascript. I really should have checked that link out before posting.

it also shows a method to not use javascript. Lets you define an extra DTD that will allow you to use the target attribute :)

Then alot to think about to make sure the site is semantically correct. It doesn't mean squat if you make your page validate in...

If you use any code in your product that is from phpBB, then it has to be released under the GPL. I believe you can take ideas but you can't use code unless you release the product under GPL. This is where i'm unsure... my code isn't exactly the same as phpBB's function. I used the same idea. There...

I'm not exactly sure where to post this.. not exactly a support issue and not sure if its suitable for General Discussion either. Anyway... i do alot of phpBB modding for some people. Normally customising the forum to integrate with their site and stuff like that. I've gotten very used to some of th...

im not the mod author, but i think i can help open each of the album files in the admin directory you'll see something like this if( !empty($setmodules) ) { $filename = basename(__FILE__); $module['Photo_Album']['Configuration'] = $filename; return; } change it to if( !empty($setmodules) ) { $filena...

Do what i do, write your own comments :)
Very useful when you have a whole bunch of mods and personal modifications to the board.

You can change the comments provided by the mod author... sometimes i don't change them if they come in a nice format already.
