You could upgrade to another more powerfull product from your host or change host. Even go from shared hosting to a vps.

Re: Forced SSL fails

Server settings does not force redirecting. You will need to create a redirect in your htaccess. Thx for clearing That up. So no reason to mess with the phpBB ssl functions if you are using ssl. So the "force" function doesnt not force anything. Great function. It should at least force the selected...

No I was talking about your phpBB version of your old sql backup. Import it into your db and then you can see which version your old phpbb sql file was backed up from.

Mariadb works fine.

Looks like it. But the only way to make sure what version the database is. Is to import it and look in the phpbb_config table.

Re: Forum/Tapatalk advice

I would ask the developers of the extension your using. They will be able to tell you how and if this feature can be disabled.

Re: Trying to migrate from phpbb 3.0.x windows sql gz backup to a fresh linux 3.1.5 install

Yes you need to know which version you ran back then. This can be done by importing the database and looking in the phpbb_config table via a gui mysql tool like phpmyadmin or a like. Then download the right files from phpBB 3.0.X you can find them here. https://sourceforge.net/projects/phpbb/files/p...

Re: Trying to migrate from phpbb 3.0.x windows sql gz backup to a fresh linux 3.1.5 install

You need the same version phpBB files as the old database to use it. When everything is running well on the old forum, then you can update.

Sphinx experience

Hey all. The past few days iwe been playing with sphinxsearch , which is a 3rd party search tool for phpBB3 that is faster than the standard search engine. Re: xcache end purge cache

I thought so and digged a bit deeper. Tested out latest xcache, php combo and indeed there is a problem, purging the board resulted in a blank page, restoring the /cache/ content "fixed" the problem, the selected cache type are stored within a fil in that directory.

Re: xcache end purge cache

The fix is to add the following in your php xcache config file and restart your php-fpm or apache2. xcache.admin.user = "mOo" xcache.admin.pass = "5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99" Change mOo with random username and generate your own md5 password and paste it in. When you clear the cache in apc now...
