Re: ex moderator

Hi! As this is more of a support question, I've moved it to the support forums where you're more likely to get the proper help. :) Try running a permission mask of the moderator permissions (under the Permission tab in your ACP) on this user's username. Permissions in phpBB can be a bit tricky and c...

Re: [3.1][3.2][RC] Obscure Registration Code (SPAM stopper)

I think the key here is that bots are not programmed for these types of codes yet. Anything a human can reasonably solve will eventually be figured out by bots as well. No CAPTCHA or anti-spam solution is forever. If it was, it would get to the point of it being too difficult for humans. For now, th...

Re: "Mark all read" in bottom

That's because the "Unread posts" page doesn't use the viewforum_body.html template, that's only used inside actual forums. :) As unread posts is a variant of search.php it makes use of the search_results.html template file and there the Mark posts read code is only available at the top pagination s...

Re: phpBB.com Website Feedback

I was looking in the Customisation Database at the Styles section (for some styles that work with 3.2. I noticed that there are some styles there that appear to only work with 3.0 (for example World of Warcraft: Alliance , Serenity or Hestia ). I'm wondering if those styles are now depricated and c...

Re: phpBB.com Website Feedback

The [3.2.x] Support Forum is missing two sections that the [3.1.x] Support Forum has: Screen Shot 2018-04-04 at 23.47.40.jpg I wrote a support topic about having problems getting a custom BBCode (that worked in 3.0.x) to work with 3.2.x and got confused when a moderator moved the topic to a 3.1 sub...

I like the default phpBB smilies, they're quite authentic and I've gotten used to them. Especially this one. :ugeek:

Re: How do I make the content of database of former board show on a new board?

You have to change the database name (and maybe the usersname) in the config.php file Exactly. That's what I meant in my first post. Edit the config.php file to make it connect to the correct database and look for the right tables in that database (by entering the correct prefix). Purge the cache a...

Re: How do I make the content of database of former board show on a new board?

It could be connecting to another database, or to tables of another prefix in the database.
Check the config.php file to see whether all the data in there is correct. If it's not and you changed it, purge the cache afterwards. :)

Re: Why I can see "New topic" button as guest?

As Brf mentioned, this is intended default behaviour. However, it's quite easy to change. Open the file styles/prosilver/template/viewforum_body.html and find: (both on lines 47 and 263) <span>{L_BUTTON_NEW_TOPIC}</span> <i class="icon fa-pencil fa-fw" aria-hidden="true"></i> Replace it with: <!-- I...

Re: I did something dumb...really dumb...Viglink help

Hi, welcome to phpBB! Don't worry, this is easily fixable. First, you can re-upload the VigLink directory to the "ext" folder using your FTP program. You can find these files in the full package on our Downloads page: https://www.phpbb.com/downloads/ Afterwards, learn that before deleting the files ...

Re: how to duplicate extensions?

In the current form of our extensions system, that would be very difficult. You would have to change the name of the extension in all possible places in the files where the name is mentioned, both in the code and in the tables it would add to the database. If you would miss one instance of a name, t...

Re: Non moderators post deletions showing in moderator log

Deleting posts is seen as a moderator action in phpBB, so even when a non-moderator deletes (presumably his own) posts, it's in the Moderator Logs. I'm not sure there is an easy way to prevent this from being logged. You'd probably need a code change or extension.
