Re: Known issues in 3.2.4

Open the files mentioned in the Github link linked by Marc in the opening post in a suitable text editor. Remove the red highlighted code and add the green code. Re-upload the files, that’s it.

If you require support, please post your problem there Not requiring support, only asking if others are having the same problem. If none do, then I'll keep debugging it on my own. To help you start off debugging, you might want to read the section related to the fixed security issue on 3.2.4 in the...

Re: Removing or hashing IPS

Hi, welcome to phpBB! :) That wouldn't be possible in a vanilla (default) phpBB install, I'm afraid. Being able to see IP addresses comes with being able to see the moderator logs. You'd either need to hack it out of the phpBB or find an extension to take care of that for you, for neither of those I...

Re: Know CPR!

I, for one, completely agree with you here. I know that even in Europe there's quite some differences between how many people know CPR. For example, recently some stats came out stating that the vast majority of people in Germany know how to do CPR (was it 97%?) but in the Netherlands this percentag...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.4 Release

Hi, all. I want to know if i have to make this update as an emergency/critical one or can wait for a few weeks before performing the update? :) It's a security update which fixes a security issue. We recommend you update as soon as possible. The details of the security problem itself are in the Ann...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.4 Release

however, do NOT use the autoupdate package. I understand that, but what I don't understand is this about the patch files. The patch file package is for those wanting to update through the patch application, and should only be used by those who are comfortable with it. The patch file is one solution...

Re: Why require username for forgotten password?

A special thanks to the developers that made it happen and probably got paid little or nothing to do it . Happy to hear both of you satisfied with this change. Emphasis in the quote is mine. It's never an excuse for anything, but I just wanted to just point out that nobody involved in development o...

Re: Error message trying to access my forum

Now i'm just questioning why doesn't it say in any update guide to change the mysql to mysqli? Glad to hear you've got your problems resolved. In fact, the MySQL extension for PHP had been deprecated since PHP5.5, so hosts should have long moved on to only supporting mysqli. Since PHP 7.0 it's been...

Re: Error message trying to access my forum

Hi, welcome to phpBB! :)

This is most likely because of one simple line in your config.php file.
Could you see if changing the mysql to mysqli in that file changes anything?
