Re: The Question Has to Be Asked ...

Sorry Jim but I have to disagree. As I said earlier the whole ethos since phpBB 3.1 has been that core files are not changed and changes are done either by the use of extensions and/or child styles. If there are "experienced" users who have made core changes then by definition they should be able t...

Re: The Question Has to Be Asked ...

Like Marc said, we've actually changed this in 3.2.3, so the next version everybody will be told in the ACP that file replacement is the preferred way of updating so that will hopefully cause will problems amongst inexperienced users. The problem I have with completely removing it is that there are ...

Re: reCaptcha v2 thinks it's v1?

I haven't checked, but it could be that part of this is due to outdated template files, which might call the CAPTCHA.

A simple way to check would be to set prosilver to your active style (if you have the most recent version of prosilver installed, of course).

Re: Receive notification emails for each post/reply?

You could just subscribe to every forum, so you'd get notifications every time a new post is made. However, the catch is that you wouldn't get a new notification unless you've visited the forum since the last notification.

Re: Style not listed in ACP section

Hi, welcome to phpBB! :) Did I gather correctly that you're trying to use a style for 3.0.13 on a 3.2 board? Unfortunately, that's not possible. Not even using hacks like these. These versions are so different in the underlying technology that they're completely incompatible. Even if you would someh...

Re: Purge Cache - Error 500?

Hi, welcome to phpBB! :) Purging the cache often lets code changes to into effect, so chances are that the code you changed right before purging the cache might be the culprit here, so reverting that might help. Alternatively, you could look in your server error logs (or have your host do this if yo...

Re: Resetting Topic Views to Zero

You want to do this for individual topics? In that case, run the following SQL query for each of the topics where you want the topic count reset. Be sure to replace the "2" with the topic ID of the topic you'd like reset and be sure to change phpbb_ to your prefix if it's different. UPDATE phpbb_top...

Re: we_universal problem

Hi, welcome to phpBB! :) We actually have different support sections from each extension and style, this is so it's easy for the author to keep track of all the questions for his style/extension. For the we_universal style, that's over here . You're more likely to get a useful response when posting ...

Re: Index page title

Well, without changing core files would be possible although I personally don't know how to do it and it sounds like a lot of efforts creating an extension for such a relatively small change. I suppose if you wanted I could move this to Extensions Requests for you though. :) Just for the record, you...

Re: Moving to the root

FYI, that might also be an indication of an old cookie being "stuck" at your home PC. That's usually resolved by forcing a new cookie, which happens when you change the cookie name or when you manually remove all board cookies for your board from your browser.

Re: [split] Update from 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 not working

If you've kept track of your manual changes, it might be easier to upload through the way I described above (it's usually more straightforward as the update occasionally times out or has other problems for some boards) and then re-apply the changes. Alternatively, check if you've uploaded the right ...
