Re: PHP7 and the preg_replace problem

There's a lot more to fix than just that one line.

See the guide here: https://forum.dion-designs.com/t9154/ma ... th-php-70/

Re: Getting Username from DB

True. The error is saying that display_forum is being called on line 568, after being called on line 22. My line 568 does not have the display_forum function. Check there first to see if you've somehow copied some code.

Re: Getting Username from DB

Replace if (!function_exists('phpbb_get_user_rank')) { include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/functions_display.' . $phpEx); } with include_once($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/functions_display.' . $phpEx); functions_display is somehow being called twice -- most likely from some other code that does not...

Re: How to use post id as php value

Search for "$postrow" in viewtopic.php. That will show you the array that outputs data to the template. Within that array, you can add a line that sends the data you want. $row['post_id'] is the variable that contains the post_id. Make more sense?

Re: How to use post id as php value

You don't wan't to include php code in the HTML template file. Instead, look in viewtopic.php to see how it outputs data to the template array. Search for $postrow. Include a line such as:

Code: Select all

'MYDATA'		=> 'http://database.com?postid=' . $row['post_id'],
... as a basic example.

Re: Edit the template you get when you receive the "message sent" info

You can put HTML into the language files. Just put the HTML code you want inside the single quotes, replacing 'This message has been posted successfully.' in language/en/posting.php. Unless I'm misreading what you need.

Re: Getting Username from DB

Put this after the code I provided, and report back what it prints out:

Code: Select all

var_dump($username);
die;

Re: Getting Username from DB

$sql = 'SELECT username FROM ' . USERS_TABLE . ' WHERE user_id = ' . $user_id; $result = $db->sql_query($sql); $username = $db->sql_fetchrow($result); $db->sql_freeresult($result); $username now holds the username. However, you already have some complicated database queries in your code, so not sur...

Re: How to add link when someone copies and pastes from site?

What you're looking for is Tynt: http://tynt.com/ You could probably just put their javascript code in overall_footer.html and it would work. However, you'll A) annoy a lot of people, and B) you won't be able to have it *not* insert that code when pasting on to your own forum. It's all-or-nothing. F...

Re: Hiding foe quotes

Sorry, I've been AFK for the last week. I haven't noticed that behavior in QPBL, but I'm using the title function and I guess it only affects the date function. Glad you figured out a workaround!

Re: Hiding foe quotes

Er... nope. Sounds like you just had a temporary glitch or something. With an install/ directory present, phpBB will not allow access to the board (and will show an error message). If you renamed the install/ directory, none of the code will be able to access anything in there (nor does it need to)....

Re: Hiding foe quotes

You can probably directly insert it into viewtopic.php and it will work fine. But that's not an extension, that's an old-style mod, and it will probably break other things down the line (I assume the new updating system will always figure that core files are unmodified).
