Either you have set the cookie info wrong on your phpBB, or you have got cookies disabled on your browser I would have thought. Give lycos an e-mail asking them about cookies maybe.

it told me that it could not query forums information so i went to phpmyadmin and i repaired some tables and it started to work and then i got this other error when you try to post a message it says could not insert word.

You probably mucked up something pretty important when manually altering the database. I would back up all the data you have, and start again with a phpBB fresh install and then restore the database.

Open up config.php (download it off your server) in notepad and check that the details are correct. The variable names are self explanitory.

When you insalled phpBB, did it work? You know, when you ran install.php. It's more than likely you got your database details wrong.

How do disallow guest posting

Is there an option so if someone who is not signed up to the forums gets greeted aith a 'You must be registered to view these forums' when they go to index.php. Yes I have tried a search and I cannot find it.

i used to get that with a load of sites at times, you just didn't load all of the page. It is not a bug with phpBB2, just your browser. I have broadband and have never seen that error again lol.
