Upload Via phpMyAdmin Problems

Well I am attempting to upload my database backup to my new host. Thing is that it is entirely too big. The limit is for some reason an insanely small 7KB, and my file is 48MB. I found this: 1.16 I cannot upload big dump files (memory, HTTP or timeout problems). Starting with version 2.7.0, the impo...

Re: Transfer from one host to another

Figured it out already. Sorry once again. It was an issue within the Users assigned to that database.

Re: Transfer from one host to another

And here I thought I had it done. *sigh* haha. Well this whole process hasn't been easy, so it figures I would have problems on the last main step. That is step number 7 7) Uploading the Database backup. 7.a. Load into phpMyAdmin. 7.b. Select your database. 7.c. Click the tab "Import". 7.d. Click Br...

Re: Transfer from one host to another

Ok well I got everything done so far according to that list. I am now stuck on the filemanager step. It's telling me to enable certain options within the filemanager Filemanager: - Open Cpanel, enter your admin login details. - Navigate to "File Manager". - Click on that, a pop up should display. - ...

Re: Transfer from one host to another

You have to get the database on the new host and that won't do it. well my current host is lunarpages. They are the ones I'm leaving. I've looked through the cPanel and didn't see the phpMyAdmin stuff. Anyone know if it comes with it? Also if not does it come with something just as capable? Or do I...

Re: Transfer from one host to another

I've done both manual installs and installs via fantastico. Those are a cakewalk to me because I've learned over time what to do. This is the first time I've transferred hosts. I don't remember ever using phpMyAdmin either. But I could be mistaken. Yes I have a custom theme. I've tried uploading as ...

I don't know how to back it up. I don't know how to get into that phpmyadmin thing. I did a backup via the phpbb3 admin panel. I don't know if that is what you guys were talking about. It's about 5 MB.

I looked on the thing and it says do it through phpMyAdmin or whatever. I don't know how to do that. I don't even know where to go for that. I've never moved a forums. This is driving me crazy.

I'm new to all this. Where do I access the phpMyAdmin. Is that just the admin panel within phpbb3?

Re: Transfer from one host to another

Open 'config.php' in your forum directory, and edit the Database details to match your new ones, make sure you then import the old database/backup of it. What that error is saying is it cannot connect to the database with the user credentials supplied. The importing of the old database will be done...
