possibly... i'm not that familiar with phpbbmod, but i do think they have done stuff to the database for their board. if possible my suggestion would be to set up everything locally and try to do the upgrade - that will show you what problems you will run into. otherwise contact the folks at phpbbmo...

making people admins can be dangerous if you don't trust them 100%. if someone is an admin and get upset with you they can do all sorts of bad stuff.

i haven't checked out the super-moderator mod, but if it does what i think it does, it should be what you are looking for.

if i remember correctly (been AFK for a bit) there is an option in the install for mysql 3.x and 4.x

so if nothing else give it a try - can't hurt ;) (if you are upgrading a board just be SURE to make a backup of your database)

sounds like something went wrong with the mod. make sure you followed the instructions exactly... and if you are still having trouble ask in the mods development forum as they can better help since they wrote the mod.
