Re: [SPLIT] Confused by 3.1.X to 3.2 upgrade instructions

May I suggest the TS explains exactly what he has done (and uses the Support Request Template) in order to at least identify the problem and its probable cause, without which a solution can hardly be found.

I surely did. I did follow instructions.

Where do you see that old version?
Your style version = 2.5.5 according to your style.cfg

The latest version = 2.5.6 (https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/download/160726)

"Browse to /install/, click the Update tab, click the Update button, select "Update database only" "

What does this even mean? Perhaps it is aimed a Linux people only?

Am I being stupid? :-)
Coming from someone with experience with phpBB3.1, that statement isn't even funny :?

Re: 3.0.12 to 3.2.5 upgrade issues.

@warmweer Yep, I'd like to clean the new working forum 3.2.5 Db if possible. Unfortunately I don't have the time at the moment (neither in the near future) but I mentioned the (outline of) the procedure in https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=556&t=2502461&p=15200041&hilit=tapatalk#p1520...

Re: PHP Authentication System to Replace PHPBB

What is the best way to extract passwords (10,000+ users) from the phpbb databases for import in to a new system that can read the existing passwords. If this is not possible what is the best way to go about having users authenticate? I doubt the passwords can be extracted (that is the point of sal...

Re: 3.0.12 to 3.2.5 upgrade issues.

Do you have any MODs installed? No Do you have any extensions installed? No Yet you mention mobiquo? Either a leftover from tapatalk on 3.0.12. (which could explain the borked backup) or yes: an extension in 3.2.5 If it's the first case (3.0.12) then the database can probably be cleaned easily and ...

I just simply added:

text-align: center;

To line 191 of content.css
I doubt this works: AFAIK text-align is for horizontal aligning see https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_text_text-align.asp
vertical-align might do the trick see https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_pos ... -align.asp

Re: massively rename many posts of a discussion

I often have to rename a discussion, but when it contains so many posts it takes a long time to rename them all: there is a way to rename them in bulk, so that by editing the first one you change all the others but putting "re:" in front? Change 1 post-title (by putting "re:" in front ... BTW "re: ...

Re: Error loading page

Upgrade to phpBB 3.2.5 at least. :geek: I'm weary of doing so. When we upgraded from 3.1.10 , it completely broke our forum. Without the help of some folks here, all would've been lost. Is this statement correct? Because that would imply you are using 3.2.x which is very simply updateable to 3.2.5 ...

I get this. The thing is, I would like to have 3 steps, not just 2: They register, see only one forum where they can introduce themselves After their 1st post, they can see all forums, but with limited access, like NRU After their 5th post, they have standard access, like regulars users Is this ask...

Re: how to have new users go to an admin created group, NOT builtins newly registered and registered groups?

If I remove a newly registered user from both built-ins group, newly registered and registered, yes, it does what I want. For one: don't remove users from the Registered group. Every user should be member of the Registered Group. BUT as newly registered users are sytematically members of both afore...
