Re: V3.2.2 Restored data but nothing there?

... Anyone got any ideas? There are a couple of very unclear things in your post. It seems (at the end) you tried to restore a backup from 3.0.12 into a new 3.2.2 db. There is no way that is going to work! I suggest you use your original 3.0.12 backup to install your forum on localhost (your PC) an...

Re: Is there a way to make normal users into moderators after they reach a certain number of posts?

If you do for the automatic moderator option, make sure those moderators only have soft-delete permissions so that you can at least check on what has been deleted (and restore if necessary). Once a certain automatic moderator has gained your trust, then you could consider perma-delete permissions.

Re: Cant update from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2

... Yes, but I thought I'd done it already. I uploaded all the new files with the ftp replace method. This time I removed all files instead from the server and uploaded the whole batch which worked better. FTP-replace method is not something I would advise. Depending on your FTP client/your host se...

Define "near"!
Whatever, I guess it'll be released some time before 3.2.4 (but don't pin me on that).

Re: PM only offer groups to which member belongs

Thanks. The problem is that EC is just one of many groups/teams and I want to restrict each them to group messaging their own. From what I've heard so far, If I want group messaging I guess I'll have to trust team members not to email other teams. Just to avoid possible confusion: you probably don'...

Re: Updating from 3.0.x Command Line Gives Error

Online upgrading from 3.0.x on a large board (especially with modifications) is a lot easier on localhost.
Once the upgrade is succesful, it's just a matter of uploading the upgraded database.

Re: [3.2][RC] Privacy Policy

It's not the first time you forum has been offline because you did not test your changes on a copy of your live forum. Not true Ok, perhaps offline was not the correct wording: change that to online but not functional. The point was that whatever is changed on your forum (or.. generalised: a forum)...

See https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=556&t=2453611 Fix: Open phpbb/db/migration/data/v32x/fix_user_styles.php & find: OK, thanks. Since I don't need exactly v3.2.2, which version of 3.2.x family do you think is more stable? Regards, Gianni Both are equally stable, the only problem be...

Re: Make the pbpBB update process faster and easier

Look, I'm using the "Automatic Update Package" because I have a few things I've modified in the code, and the Update process is smart enough to detect these changes, then merge them with the new code! So, again, it would be technically feasible (and maybe not that hard) to improve the Update proces...

as I understand it, he still has the old database on the server. if so, all he needs to do is edit the config.php file for the new phpbb3 board he installed so that it points to the old database. then, he needs to run the update for that database to bring it up to 3.2.2 robert Hello robert, Please ...

Re: GDPR Official Extension

This is serious? Others update their software ... for example, Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc. for this new "rule", and the European users of phpBB should we request an extension, be it official or not? This should be part of the phpBB core, to adapt to the laws or regulations of its users,...

Re: Make the pbpBB update process faster and easier

(after all, the board knows which version you are running, and the last version available right?) No it doesn't, it just blindly accepts some info in a few lines in a field or file. It's the admin who knows (should know) exactly which version and whether there have been file or database changes, an...
