Re: [RC] PM Search

A PM was sent with code allowing searching by members. In addition, a few translations were added. If you find this useful and integrate it into the extension, please add some credit for it for colnect.com team
Thanks again for this fine extension :)

I will need to request few style events in phpBB core ... I will take care of that as soon as I have some time ... which I don't know when will it be.
We've implemented it on our forums and can share the code changes for the benefit of the community

I will need to request few style events in phpBB core ... I will take care of that as soon as I have some time ... which I don't know when will it be. I assume you're referring to the second suggestion. Meanwhile could you suggest the best way to modify phpBB code for it? With regards to filtering ...

Re: [RC] PM Search

As for the all from user - I'll be working on extending this with different PM search and filter functions. Such a feature would be really great. It can be on the PM search page and also the links to the author in a PM can change to show all messages by that person. Is there a simple option to add ...

Re: [RC] PM Search

Yep. I confirm it does. Thanks :) It there a way to create the index not through ACP? Using ACP and an open browser to create an index for millions of PMs is quite slow and error-prone.

Also, is there a way to quickly see all PMs sent from or to another specific user?

Re: Many languages still don't have 3.1.x translation packages

That's what I kept writing but it doesn't seem like anyone cares enough about this issue. It seems the perception is more like a "minor feature" rather than an important core feature of a product.

Tried that as well to no avail. Thanks.

Re: Many languages still don't have 3.1.x translation packages

There is a lot that can be done if there's a person who's responsible over the volunteering translators. We implement such a method on Colnect and get it translated to over 60 languages that way. I've tried to discuss it in another thread here, even offering our help, but it seemed to attract very l...

Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

Only two team members have actually replied to your conversation, neither of which have done what you just mentioned. The rest have been community members. Making the distinction is pretty easy so I'm not sure why you'd say something misleading like this... Sorry if I haven't been clear. The "membe...

Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

Nice to see some other members coming up here and clarifying the need for good and comprehensive translations management. I still believe this is a very important issue that's perhaps not regarded as such due to the abundance of people here who have a good command of the English language. I personal...

Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

Oh I see. You're assuming we don't do this already when in fact we do, several days before a release be it alpha, beta or release candidate. Most translators take longer than that to notice and finish their translation. Under your model we would just include all of those language packs that are eit...

Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

I can't imagine that whatever product it is that you're involved in that includes 60+ translations actually sticks to a release schedule or it may be that it has a schedule so far out that it allows for everyone to finish translating strings. If we did the same thing then bug fix releases would tak...

Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

It is not a tool I meant there's a way for the community to do the translations, nothing is missing technologically. At the end of all a translation it is somehow an "extension" of the phpBB that comes shipped just with British English. ;) This view is at the root of the problem. The pphBB team doe...

Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

You sent a PM to the Management Team? Strange. I don't see anything in my PM inbox... Chosen two people over there. As you're a part of discussion here, I didn't see a point in a PM. In any case I think if we had a platform wherein anyone can contribute translations by simply entering them into a f...
