It's entirely possible another mod used $blocked_data as a variable name, which would cause it to interfere. In the future I might simply prefix everything with 'w_' or something. Just so you guys know, I'll set up another server soon. Development still continues, as I have yet another box that I us...

Wow, my server went down (and is unfortunately, staying down indefinitely) so everything will have to be discussed here. I need a list of mirrors as of course it's no longer available at my site. Reason? Lightning Storm. Fortunately, it's a brand new motherboard so the warranty is still good on it. ...

Re: [BETA] The Blog Mod - WEBLOG_CONFIG_TABLE doesn't exist

If you get the error "Table WEBLOG_CONFIG_TABLE doesn't exist" or something similar, ensure that you made the changes to constants.php correctly. "WEBLOG_CONFIG_TABLE" is a constant referring to the actual table, plus your forum prefix. Hello Many thanks for this MOD. It is grea...

No major bugs in this version. You can, as owner of the site, edit the .htm files in the template's directory. For others, there is an "Advanced Mode" which allows full html editing of the main page of their blog, plus the "face plate". You've got to grant the privileges for this...

Contributors aren't really automatically in the friends table.

An idea that came to me would be to simply do away with fetching only visible weblogs. Instead, I'd add more controls that allow guests to view only blogs that are visible for guests, etc.. That would simplify things.

Use "$db->sql_fetchrow($result)" to grab a single row from the query (wrap in a while loop for more). So something like $row = $db->sql_fetchrow($result); would give you the first row of data returned. Then you can access the fields because $row had been given an array. If you want the gro...

Ok...I kind of get it kinda not. I have to declare the abbreviation of the forum then I take it?? It's better to define your own constant in includes/constants.php, especially if you're making a mod that will be distributed. Also, on the $db...how does it array the values so know which it will be w...

Sorry I didn't mention it - the contributors table is needed for when a weblog or entry requires friends only or higher. Contributors are automatically considered friends, and soon I'll have a weblog/entry auth purely for Contributors only. Thanks for posting that code, I'll continue to tinker aroun...

phpBB has a DataBase Abstraction Layer (DBAL) that lets you NOT worry about the database being used. You can see the variable $db which is a class that will handle the SQL queries. Not everyone uses MySQL as a database, so DBAL lets you code without worrying about which database (and therefore which...

Complex SQL query needs realization

Hi, I'm writing a Blog mod for phpBB and I need help on constructing a rather complex query. You see, I need to be able to fetch the latest weblogs. Sounds simple, however there are a boatload of features that wrangle what would otherwise be a simple query. Unlike the forums, weblogs can have 4 type...

You must have made a mistake in includes/constants.php or includes/page_header.php, since the error appears on all pages. Please double check, to make sure you didn't make any stupid typos or such.

You guys really do rock :) Thanks all. The old server is back up and running right now while I try to figure out why the heck the new one just happens to stop serving pages when I'm far away from it :( Work continues with the blog mod. I've changed around the auth system so things add ons probably w...
