What is the name and link to the extension you mention? Every validated extension has its own dedicated support area in our Customisation Database. It'd be better if you could post your question there, as it would also notify the extensions's author.

FWIW - Most hosting accounts allow you to stop automatic server updates in your cPanel or by contacting support. Glad you’re sorted.

You could try following this Knowledge Base - EMAIL - Easy setup (NOT SMTP) then do your mail checks again and see what happens.

Did you try logging in using the temporary admin account as per Kevs suggestion with PHP 8? What version of Wordpress are you using?

Blank screens are indicative of suppressed PHP errors, see if you can find them in the server error logs, if you can’t get at them ask your host to get them for you.

There’s no reason Wordpress won’t work with PHP 8.3, assuming it’s up to date of course, see: WordPress can use PHP 8, and it is recommended to use PHP 8.3 with WordPress 6.4.2 for compatibility and better performance. I can’t say I’ve ever seen that before but I’m no server expert. Can you post the 500 errors you’re seeing please so we can see the issue once the “handler” updates PHP? Is that the full .htaccess file you posted? Have you tried, as a test, using the .htaccess file from the 3.3.11 download package? ...
