Re: Script path not changed?

You get the option to change it when doing the manual install.

If I just reinstall a fresh copy, but changing the name of my phpBB3 folder before I upload, will that be fine?

Re: Script path not changed?

Changing a setting in your phpBB control panel would have no effect on your forum's directory location. I didn't say anything about the control panel. You would have to rename your forum's folder yourself. Just changing that via ftp would make my forum inoperable. Okay. Does setting the script path...

Re: Script path not changed?

Sorry to post again, but I really need to get this done today and now I'm completely raging that it's gone wrong.

I just need to know what to do ... any quick response would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Script path not changed?

Hi. I just did a fresh install of phpBB3, and set the script path to /board. I remember from my last install that changing this also changes the phpBB3 folder name. However, now my board although installed, is located at mydomain.com/phpBB3 ... instead of /board? Have I got confused here and is ther...

Fix for Opera Style Rendering Bug

In Opera you'll find that the log in screen for a phpBB3 forum renders slightly incorrectly, in that there is a small confliction between some background and table colors of the page body. See the black strip in the attached image. http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm25/mrjepps/phpbb/opera-style-re...

Re: BOT Viewing Private Content Whilst Admin Is Denied Access

Turns out Virgin Media has put a ban on the ip address of my server, so no-one using their broadband can access my website.

Once this is lifted I will of course adjust the wording on the copyright.

Re: BOT Viewing Private Content Whilst Admin Is Denied Access

Are you 100% sure it can see the content? Yes. I even got it to validate a topic usually hidden several subforums in, and in the fetched source all info within that topic was included. Furthermore, after making a few calls and instructing several bots from various global locations to take snap shot...

Re: BOT Viewing Private Content Whilst Admin Denied Access

The "33% phpbb" part is a link to phpbb.com , but if you want the wording to be precise, then I guess I'll have to.

Re: BOT Viewing Private Content Whilst Admin Denied Access

You use a one-click installer of some sort to install this initially? Then we do not know whether your bots where installed correctly. No I did it manually, just edited my last post to reflect that. I misread that question. So why exactly can you not access your forum? Why is it blocked? If you can...

Re: BOT Viewing Private Content Whilst Admin Denied Access

Hey I'm back. Your board's URL: http://mrjepps.se/private/phpBB3/index.php Version of phpBB3: 3.0.2 Was this a fresh install or a(n) update/upgrade/conversion (please be specific)? Update from 3 Did you use an automated wizard provided by your host to install phpBB? Actually no. MODs you have instal...

Re: BOT Viewing Private Content Whilst Admin Denied Access

I'll do that in a second whilst I sort something out a minute, meanwhile if someone would be so kind just to post a little screen shot of my board index, that would be much appreciated.

The validator is being treated as a bot.
Do you have bot access set on those forums then?

Brf wrote:What happens when you click on that link?
I get a blank grey screen, with merely the url written on the tab and with no heading or any content of any kind whatsoever.

Re: BOT Viewing Private Content Whilst Admin Denied Access

Your access to your filemanager has nothing to do with the validator. The validator is just browsing to your forum using that http://mrjepps.se/private/phpBB3/index.php URL you posted above. Are you saying you cannot reach your forum through that URL? Yes, that is correct. I have no access to any p...

Re: BOT Viewing Private Content!

Yes, just happened over night whilst I was asleep. I recently made a successful upgrade to version 3.0.2 and everything went fine. And so with that in mind, and the fact that even ftp access and Host CP functions are being denied to me, it cannot be anything on my part. I've asked my host and...
