Re: [BETA] phPKG - MOD installer with repositories & packages

I'll be continuing development on this mod. I'm not the mod author, but I am a user & php developer. I've gotten the mod working pretty well in my own environment, but it still needs more work.

I'll start a new thread when I have a release ready.

Cheers

Re: Wrapping PHPBB3 in a website.

In addition to what pkoury said, it may be beneficial to you to try to find a theme that looks similar to your website appearance, so that you won't have as much to change.

The link to phpbbstyles is in an earlier post in this thread

Re: Wrapping PHPBB3 in a website.

dunno if anyone has button packs anywhere, but I'd look at existing themes to find buttons that might suit you

Re: Wrapping PHPBB3 in a website.

There's a bit too much silver sheen for my taste, but you did a great job converting the phpBB appearance to match your site ;-)

good job

Re: Wrapping PHPBB3 in a website.

Excellent, looks like you got the gist of what I was saying :-)

If you can post a better tutorial, I'm sure it would be welcome.

BTW, just a suggestion, it might ease things for you to start over again with a theme that already matches your website color scheme. Less tweaking then.

Re: Wrapping PHPBB3 in a website.

that's the only issue I can see. Aside from that, you shouldn't have any trouble integrating. It's just a matter of merging your header content, footer content, into overall header and overall footer. Then link your main site's CSS file into overall header, and you're pretty much done, aside from so...

Re: Wrapping PHPBB3 in a website.

that's going to present usability issues, considering the small size of your main site. everything in phpBB will be incredibly cramped, esp if you keep your side nav.

Re: phpBB3 Error Logging Tool

Agreed this is geared mostly for devs, but even tho I'm not developing anything for phpBB, I still prefer to keep tabs on errors ;-)

Re: phpBB3 Error Logging Tool

i don't even see the need to keep a constant history. maybe 1 month max.

and if a log hits 1gb, someone is in serious trouble :-) many users would max out their hosting acct fast like that, lol

Re: phpBB3 Error Logging Tool

This mod should rotate error log files per day, to avoid a single mammoth log file. Esp as the larger the file gets, the longer it takes to download & view contents.

Re: Posting template

My original assumption was correct, BLOB/TEXT cannot have default values, but instead of removing just the '', I should have removed "DEFAULT" as well.

Re: Wrapping PHPBB3 in a website.

It's relatively simple, just modify overall_header.html, and overall_footer.html You can merge your existing design with the phpbb design pretty much with just those 2 files. then it's a matter of tweaking the remaining files so it all meshes well. Typically I will let phpbb keep it's <head> tag val...
