Re: Sync attachments folder with DB table entries

Yes as I said in my original post, they were deleted from the attachments directory and the DB table. But then re-uploaded from a backup. It's not a problem really, they only taking up about 30MB of space. But it's obviously not ideal. Writing a script to scan the directory myself is not a problem b...

Re: Sync attachments folder with DB table entries

I hadn't. But I just took a look now and there were no attachments listed in there.
Do I need to initiate a scan of the attachment directory using that utility or does it do it automatically?

Sync attachments folder with DB table entries

Hi everyone I was using phpBB 2 and at some point had used the old attachment mod for a short while. I then decided to get rid of the attachment mod and never bothered to upgrade to phpBB 3. I decided to re-install the attachment mod to enable me to upgrade and I'm now running phpBB 3 and all workin...

Good advice... but one of them hasn't been updated since 2008 and another since 2009! And both say that they're only compatible with 3.0.4!

Thanks, B

phpBB CMS modules for blog and static content?

Hi everyone I'm a long-term user of phpBB for forums and I believe it's still the best out there. I have a particular forum that I use as a sort of blog where only I can create posts but people can comment on them. But I'd like to find a module/addon which can display the content of this forum in mo...

Re: Clear phpbb_privmsgs_folder for deleted users

Anyone?
Is there a query or something I can run to sync these tables?

Cheers, B

Re: Clear phpbb_privmsgs_folder for deleted users

Damn Although I just pruned a bunch of spam users, and a bunch of inactives and the number of rows in the privmsgs_folder stayed the same so I hope that's the case. Is there a way I can get these tables sync'd again? The privmsgs_folder table is about 300K larger than it should be thanks to my meddl...

Re: Clear phpbb_privmsgs_folder for deleted users

Actually from looking through the Admin Log in the ACP, it looks like I might have used the Prune Users option rather than deleting directly through phpMyAdmin

What's the best way to get the users and privmsgs_folder tables synced?

Thanks, B

Clear phpbb_privmsgs_folder for deleted users

Hi everyone When upgrading from phpBB 2 to v3 a while ago it was failing because of the size of my users table, so I think I stupidly manually deleted a bunch of users (thousands of inactive spam users) from the MySQL table. However I now see that there's thousands of rows in phpbb_privmsgs_folder w...

Re: [ALPHA]FTP addon for attachment function

This is great news!
I've always thought this feature should be built-in to the phpBB3 attachment system. And also S3 attachment storage ;)

Import RSS feed to forum

Hi guys This is quite a specific mod, but I think it would be a really cool addition. I run a blog which has forums attached to it. What would be cool is if you could set up a particular forum for say 'News' and link the forum to an RSS feed. Whenever a new post is added to that RSS feed, that item ...

Re: Upgrade from v2 to v3, some questions before I go for it

Hi Steve 1) Ok that's great news. To be honest I probably will revert the forum locations, but what phpBB 2 table(s) do I need to do the replace on? 2) Great news again! 3) Damn. Is there even a way to return a list of the topic IDs which have HTML posted in them? Is there a field that gets set, lik...

Upgrade from v2 to v3, some questions before I go for it

Hi everyone I have a relatively small forum (30,000 articles) that I'm hoping to upgrade but I have a couple of questions: 1) Within topics, people often post links to other topics in the forum. The new forum will be under a different directory, so is there a way I can get all the links to the old t...

Re: [DEV] Using Amazon S3 Simple Storage

I will be trying this out very soon! I'd love to see a Mod to store attachments in an Amazon S3 bucket. IMO this and storing attachments on remote FTP server should be standard features of phpBB. I like to keep attachments on separate servers from my scripts and forum files Will let you know how I g...
