Re: Posts not rendered correctly - massive header space?

i had the same issue, with no added browser zoom settings. replace with @media (min-width: 701px) { .postbody { /** deduct postprofile width (including border width, margin and padding) and postbody margin and padding */ width: calc(100% - 200px - 1px - 16px); } .postprofile { width: 200px; } }

Re: Your forum past, present and future

Very impressive. If you don’t mind me asking:

- How come you never updated to phpbb3?

- How much of your time does it take to moderate and maintain the forum?

- How many active posters do you normally have per day?

I use tapatalk for more than 5 years and had never troubles with it.
You only have to look very carefully to the permissions you give a tapatalk user!
This. It’s not “only” though, when it forces you to manually change permissions of thousands of files and folders.

Why is Xenforo crap for? how is the user-friendliness between xenfor and vBulletin then?
They're both paid for crap.
Again, I agree. I never understood what were those features that ppl needed so much that they had to pay to get them.

Re: Your forum past, present and future

But things are still very hard to get people motivated away from facebook, i tell people about the forums and most now have never heard of a forum let alone seen one. I run out of time to respond to this earlier. I can’t believe ppl are still so much into Fakebook. I can’t stand it either and I saw...

Re: Your forum past, present and future

Good plan dingus33. What I find is that my vision for the forum after 10 years is really just mine. No one else in the community wound run the forum the way I do or have a strong enough interest to continue where I left off, and that is probably completely natural. I think that ppl would rather star...

Re: Your forum past, present and future

I'd find it very difficult to just hit the big switch and don't envy you.
Difficult is right. I don’t think I’m ready to do it.

Thank you both for your thoughts. It helps to know others have gone through similar.

Re: Your forum past, present and future

I hear you Robert. That in my opinion is the hard part - just do it and move on. Have you ever made and maintained a board Robert? I see you help ppl with your advice but never read about you maintaining your own board.

Thanks warmweer. Interesting path you picked.

Re: Your forum past, present and future

What's the point? That's a question for the owner or users - they probably have their reasons. Agreed, I was hoping to hear from them. What did you mean by “behavioural changes are forced and not chosen”. Thank you for your thoughts. For me it was more about a learning experience with websites and ...

Re: Your forum past, present and future

Alright, they evaluate. And what are the outcomes that you know of, do the forum owners sell or do they just pull the forums offline. Do you know of any examples? I actually don’t know of any forums that outright disappeared for no reason. Some are still online even with zero or one new post per wee...
