I'm really interested in this tool. It will save me plenty of time as I'm always tweaking my board without taking notes :P As for diff on Win32 I use the one from http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/ Not sure if there's a 1:1 correspondence with the command line parameters, but its use can't be more str...

to put a menu on the left.. i edit header and footer? Think of them as "before everything" and "after everything" files. Your webpage could be: header menu (left) forum (right) footer So you could put the header and the menu in overall_header.tpl and just the footer in overall_footer.tpl

Wrap the forum with a <div id="forum">...</div> and style it (CSS) to leave space or not overlap the menu. Or use and old-style table. This is just a general idea, as I don't know how your menu is positioned.

I use this function to determine the IP address. It's far, far away from being a perfect solution, but it works with Spanish ISPs: function ip() { if ($_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR']) { return $_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR']; } elseif ($_SERVER['HTTP_CLIENT_IP']) { return $_SERVER['HTTP_CLIENT_IP'...

Hi again. Thanks for your answers. That was what I wasn't able to make work: the injection when the image was called from a page. I thought it was me doing something wrong :P About the avatars, I only allow uploaded ones, so instead of disabling them (the already uploaded wouldn't show) I just chmod...

Secunia phpBB advisories. Should I worry?

Hello, all. A few days ago I found this: phpBB Avatar Script Insertion Vulnerability http://secunia.com/advisories/17295/ As I use only uploaded avatars in my forum, should I worry about this? I've even tried to test the proof of concept but I haven't been able to make it "work" consistently, so I d...

Hi, Does your mode produces XHTML compliant code? Well, first of all, it's not really mine. I just tweaked the existing MOD to make it work and adapt it to my needs. About the XHTML, it's a bbcode MOD, so it doesn't really "produce" that much code. I properly close the IMG tag, and in general my sit...

Hello all. It looks quite good, but for some reason only [img=left] will work... :/ when I try to use =right I only see the URL... :( You mean in my forum? It works for me (WinXP, IE, FF & Op): http://www.mundoplus.tv/foros/viewtopic.php?t=22748 Is it possible to change margin-left ? I've heard some...

Re: Why the $uid in [img:$uid]? and unclosed BBcodes

Hi, Incase you didn't know, there are already a few spoiler tags out there [...] Oh, I know. I looked all of them, but I wanted something else . Has been asked before, see here . :) Thanks for the link, but I'm not sure I understood what it does. My [spoiler] tag doesn't have $uid and it's parsed :?...

Why the $uid in [img:$uid]? and unclosed BBcodes

Hello all. I've done my own BBcode MOD, [spoiler], and it seems to work without problem (using the Multi-BBcode MOD). But I've noticed other BBcodes include a $uid when messages are stored in the database. What is that $uid for? I'm guessing it has something to do with the field bbcode_uid of the po...

Hello all. Excellent MOD, thanks a lot. In case anyone is interested, I've modified it for my forum like this: $last_post = html_entity_decode($row['post_text']); $char_limit = '192'; $last_post = preg_replace("/\[img.+?\].+?\[\/.+?\]/iU",'& #91;IMAGEN& #93;',$last_post); $last_post = preg_replace("...

Is the link+copyright ok like this?

Hello. I'm preparing a new setup of phpBB for my website, and the guy that takes care of the legal stuff says showing two copyrights at the bottom is confusing. So I've made this: http://www.mundoplus.tv/atnbueno/copyright_phpbb.png I think I comply with the appropiate rule . Is is ok like that? Reg...

Hello again. @Marshalrusty: Yep. I've been reading carefully the 7-page thread. And I'm also quite paranoid about backups :D @ScionCrow: Thanks, but in my case it's the same server and I have shell access (so it's just me, not limitations of the system :P). It's more a problem of "transplanting" the...
