2.0.15 to 2.0.16

Is quite an easy upgrade, there is a mod style download which tells you which bits of coding to change.
I use this as I also have several mods.

Just do your backups before upgrading.

In the files to upgrade from 2.0.14 to 2.0.15, there is a folder called "instal" you must upload this to forum root directory then point your browser to the file inside it "update_to_latest.php", This will complete the update. When this is done delete this folder along with the f...

Thanks Jim,

I understand about step by step upgrade,

But what I was worried about is if I have any errors (I cant leave the board down for too long), can i just copy back the original files and I'm up and running again.
Or is this not possible once I run the upgrade file.

Yet another person going to upgrade here. going from 2.011 to .15 I will be doing it manually because of some mods. So obviously I will backup all files. But what happens when I run the uprade file.......... If I have problems can i still copy back my original forum files, and get up and running aga...

I had this ages ago, wish I could remember how i fixed it.......

Seem to remember it was something to do with the domain name being wrong in ACP config menu, or the cookie path.

ok thanks, that was what i needed to know.

what I was wondering is what this upgrade to latest actually does.

If I do this then have problems, can i just overwrite the new files with the backups and this "upgrade to latest" is also undone?

thx

so if i edit the code manually does that mean I dont have to run the

update_to_latest.php

which is where i thought i may have a problem going backwards.

reversing upgrade

Hi all, If i copy all my phpbb files before doing a manual upgrade (so i dont lose my mods), What does the upgrade to new version file actually do? Is it something irreversible? Just thinking that if i had problems after an upgrade an easy quick/temp fix would be just to put the original forum files...
