Re: Where is login_box() function located?

OK. I found it in /includes/functions.php. :D Took some looking. This stuff isn't as easy to find as I would like. Line 2861

Code: Select all

/**
* Generate login box or verify password
*/
function login_box($redirect = '', $l_explain = '', $l_success = '', $admin = false, $s_display = true)

Where is login_box() function located?

The people who created the function documentation did a good job not telling us which files the functions are located in. There are only 200 includes, not much trouble to open each one and look, is it? function login_box() - where is it? The documentation doesn't say. I've already spent 15+ minutes ...

Re: Preventing Spam in phpBB 3.0.6 and Above [*Read First Po

Even with Captcha enabled you will be hammered with spam. reCaptcha was cracked months ago. What spammers are doing now is registering an account and then flooding the board with spam. Every morning when I wake up I check my board and find 101 spam posts with thousands of outgoing links. You know w...

Re: Where can I get phpBB2 Smiley Pack?

The best you could do is download phpBB2 and upload the smilies that way. You would still have to manually add them, but you get your desired result. OK. I did not know phpBB2 was still available for download. I will look for it. I did manage to find a .pak file which works fine for the default php...

Re: Where can I get phpBB2 Smiley Pack?

OK. I don't want to spend all night on this. Already spent an hour on these stupid smilies and I want to get done! I converted from another forum. The other forum had a different smiley name structure. I uploaded these smilies. There is no pak file with them. I cannot change the smiley file name any...

Thanks

I just want to say adding the ability to use different CAPTCHA systems was a really good idea. I do not see how any spam bot can break our custom question and answer verifications because all of ours will be different. :) Thanks for doing this!

Where can I get phpBB2 Smiley Pack?

I was wondering where I could get the smiley pack that phpBB2 had. The ones with phpBB3 kind of look like aliens. I like the older ones better. I've searched and cannot find a downloadable smiley pack anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. :)

Re: Cannot Eliminate Forum Image Or Forum Password

Your browser is doing an 'auto fill'. Before you press Submit, clear those fields and you will be all set until the next time you edit a forum. Yeah, that was it. :oops: I've never had a problem like this before on any other type of website. Thank you for the help. I disabled autofill in my browser...

Re: Cannot Eliminate Forum Image Or Forum Password

This has got to be a bug. An annoying one at that. Whenever I try to add a new forum, I get an error message that my passwords do not match. Also, I get the warning that "The specified forum image does not exist".

Cannot Eliminate Forum Image Or Forum Password

Hi. I have not had a phpBB3 forum since last year when I had to shut one down. While I am a little rusty, this issue seems unusual. I did a new installation of phpBB-3.0.7-PL1 just a few hours ago. I did, of course, search for this, but found nothing. When trying to edit a category, I see that the "...

Re: Integrate my forum to my website using phpBB website sty

You could add the code for your web page to the file "overall_header.html" and this will make your phpBB forum look like part of your website. Add the footer details etc. to the file "overall_footer.html". Thanks for the tip. What would be nice is if you could include the forum into your site easil...

Thanks, onehundredandtwo. I will look at the CAPTCHA file and see if I can figure out a way to modify it to make my CAPTCHAs unique.

Re: Preventing Spam in 3.0 [*Read First Post*]

How effective are the new CAPTCHA settings in 3.0.5? I had a phpBB 3 board that was set up to require registration to post and email confirmation to register. The board did not get much traffic, maybe a couple of dozen people per day. It got only a few posts per week. I went a way for a week and cam...
