Re: Strange registration behavior (Newly Registered Users)

Well... yes. So for all the 'Registered users' it should be Standard/Limited Access, and for 'Newly registered users' it should be 'Newly registered access' since the 'Never' for posting supercedes 'yes' for the normal registered users?

Edit: Seems people can post topics, though... hmm.

Re: Noob Question.

I don't like websites coded entirely in flash. I can understand and tolerate when it's used here or there for particular things, but I tend to avoid most websites that whore it out.

Re: SGA: File-sharing is worse than bank robbery!

I find it hard to care about companies crying about file-sharing when most of the price comes from brand name. On top of the fact you're merely buying distributed copies, as opposed to something that was uniquely made each time. An artist will produce a single album, and that album is copied million...

Re: Q: How do you know when your forum is a failure?

Your forum's success is whatever you define it to be. On a personal level, I'd love to learn enough PHP to do my own modding of phpBB. Wheter or not my forum is popular or gets any hits would be irrelevant to me at that stage.

Strange registration behavior (Newly Registered Users)

[23:42] <RandomCharacters> Anyway, I've noticed something awry and I'm not sure if this was a mistake on my part or... what. [23:43] <RandomCharacters> But I've set my account activiation to 'By user' and enabled the Newly Registered Users group as default, with the post limit at 1 [23:43] <RandomC...

Re: Who thinks the Pope should be Jailed?

I live in Ireland, and as of late we've been getting a lot of crap flowing through popular media pertaining to scandals in the church. Frankly, I don't care what you believe in; if you molest a kid, you're probably sick in the head. Uniform, religion, sex or skin colour is irrelevant in my eyes.

Website integration advice?

Up until this point, on my website I'd been using phpBB and MediaWiki integrated via a MW extension. Having shut down my website for a redesign yesterday, I'd decided to try look into trying to more deeply integrate it, possibly via CMS (Perhaps Joomla?). I'm not that great of a programmer; I can't ...

Re: Topic in "Who is online"

If you delete a topic, then go into Who is online, you get a general error if someone is looking at the topic that isn't there anymore. Dunno if the mod author is around anymore, and the error fixes itself once the person attempting to view the deleted topic moves; but yeah.

Re: Windows 7 or vista..?

Been using Steam since I installed Windows 7; no issues.

Windows 7 feels like an actual upgrade from XP as opposed to Vista, but many do fine just sticking with XP anyway (Though that is not the discussion here).

Re: Left 4 Dead 2's Gore Censorship

I feel like writing a decent amount about this as I did in the MW2 topic, but it seems everyone else has everything more or less covered. I think Australia's just a bit overzealous about censorship, compared to most places. Has anyone else read about the planned internet censorship? Obviously there ...
