Re: Help with displaying topics on external pages

I'm trying to get Example 3 to work. I end up with a blank page. The results of my troubleshooting are: After the $db->sql_query_limit() statement, I die()'d the script and printed the query. I then took this query to MySQL Query Browser and it did in fact return exactly what I expected. Removed the...

Re: [Beta] Collapsible Categories

Hmm. And I thought I saw it all. An assignment as an argument to a logical test. What is the if() testing for? A successful assignment?

Re: is my forum slow or is this normal for phpbb

Looks good to me in Firefox. Nice, clean design.

It does take a few extra seconds than I would expect to get all the graphics. Are you hosting this site locally, as on home-based server?

Has anyone mentioned that in file: ccat.js, line 25, javascript console complains:

Re: Auto email unreliable

I'm still confused about this, myself, but I read some sort of conclusion at the Area51 boards that the final Welcome email (You've been activated/confirmed!) WILL get sent IF the admin activates via the link in the email sent to the admin, but WON'T get sent if the admin activates via the Inactive ...

Last Post in Forum list...

is not the latest dated post. I have been copying posts from a listserv into my new forums (not as bad as you might think) and have been assigning the requisite posted date to the post. These posts are dated earlier than existing posts in that forum. However, it seems the Last Post shown on the foru...

ACP non-links

More exploring in the ACP reveals that some plain text headers (or more likely what would appear to be table row headers) cause my mouse cursor to change to a pointy-finger - indicative of a hyperlink. But they don't go anywhere. Specifically, Manage User, User administration :: Name, any field labe...

DIV-Float problems

I've placed my branding in the ProSilver style, but it seems IE is having some problems (of course). Initially, I was having a lot of problems with the css element "clear". It was causing several div containers to descend below a float that is at least two div containers up from the strangely behavi...

Re: Group member to see other group members

Heh. They are hidden. The problem that always blindsides me is that I'm learning phpBB as the Site Admin. As such, it seems I see a lot more than what I expect. So, I looked a Registered User's profile, clicked "Test out user's permissions", and, true enough, I cannot see the hidden group when viewi...

Re: Group member to see other group members

OK, so I brought up your profile. I see that you are a Registered User and a member of the group "Support Team". But let's say that you are in a group called "Programmers". The members of the Programmers group may not want Registered Users to even know that such a group exists, or at the very least,...

Group member to see other group members

Is there a mod (or a current way) for a member of a private forum to see the list of other members in that private forum? For example, when viewing the list of members (Members link), there would also be in that list the list of groups that the person is a member of. Clicking on the group name would...

Re: Admin posting as user

On a related note, is there a mod that will allow the admin to create a new post/reply *as* another user. Until phpBB3 is able to accept a csv of a topic dump from another forums, I need to start moving threads. Instead of creating a new topic/reply as the administrator, *then* assign the post to th...

Re: Forum needs moderation, but...

Permissions, Forum Based Permissions::Forum Moderators, {Select the forum or forum group}, {Select User or Group}::Edit Permissions, Role is "Full Moderator", So, the answer to your question is yes. But, I think I found the correct permutation. First, I had Permissions, Forum Permissions, Registered...

Forum needs moderation, but...

not the moderator of that forum.

I've looked at all the various permutations of permissions, but I cannot find the one that says, "This forum needs all posts approved by a moderator (currently set), but the moderator does NOT need its post moderated (can't find)."

Am I overlooking something?

If you *have* to go to a mechanic, either: * at rebuilding engines, yes. * at knowing what when wrong when the rebuilt engine doesn't start, yes. * at having the time and/or inclination to rebuild engines as a vocation and you not, yes. * at having a very clear understanding of everything that's inv...
