Is there a future plan that an editor like CKE would be implemented?
It is in progress e.g. here and here.

Re: PHPbb 3.2 doesnot accept paragraphs

I can see no reason why that css indents only the first line and not any other lines but I am certainly no expert in css. Becuase the are not paragraphs in the markup but simply double line breaks. So what this CSS does is indenting the first line of the block, which is the <div> containing your wh...

Re: PHPbb 3.2 doesnot accept paragraphs

I think what a lot of people are forgetting is that indenting the first line of paragraphs is antediluvian. Well, it is a one line extension pretty much, and the CSS changes proposed in this topic. IMHO we might use the paragraph markup in posts in some future release and then this will be only a C...

Re: PHPbb 3.2 doesnot accept paragraphs

You could also request or write an extension, that would configure the text formater in a way that it would generate paragraphs. I think it should be fairly easy to do, as the library we use supports that and after that custom styling could be added to indent the first lines of paragraphs.

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

This law's getting dangerous. I'm starting to see threads of people broadcasting that they've disabled webserver and database server logging on their systems, and broadcasting it as a bonus of using their services/sites. Do we want to take bets on how long it will be before hackers just nail the He...

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

"Will it be able to keep posts after the user opt out of the forum?" This was also already answered. Don't process them based on consent and then you don't have to (except on a case by case basis if the author requests it and the request is reasonable). If you process them based on consent then you...

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

David, but it does not matter our perception of this. With many laws, people do not agree, but they must respect them. In particular, specialists in a given field see this field differently than other ordinary people. GDPR has been created to protect people who do not necessarily know what is happe...

HiFiKabin, it is just interpretation. You have to read original document. Article 4 Definitions:
You seem to assume that nobody else read GDPR which is not true at all. Also ICO is the UKs agency for enforcing GDPR, so they interpretation of the regulation is as good as it gets.

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

If you want to comply, comply. If you don't want to comply, either geoblock or just ignore it all. The only question is if phpBB wants to pull a WordPress and make GDPR features mandatory in its core code. The answer is, as it looks to be, no. I wouldn't say that there is no chance of getting some ...

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

If someone requests you to delete your account and personal information, then you have no choice. This person does not have to indicate posts containing personal data. All he has to do is make a request. According to GDPR, someone can ask you what personal data belong to him, you have as administra...

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

On the forum you always collect data in posts based on consent which the user expressed by accepting the rules of the forms. Or you specify on what other bases you collect the data. There is nothing in GDPR that would require you to collect posts based on consent and not any other bases that are sp...

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

It is in GDPR so you can keep all personal data in posts if you haven't collected them based on consent but other means that are in GDPR. GDPR allows you to collect data on other bases then consent. Legitimate interest is one of them. It seems to me that you want to collect data based on consent in ...

Re: Connect between phphbb and a c++ software

It is possible but not really straight forward. There is no API to do that currently, so what you could do is to authenticate the user against the phpBB account, and if the login was successful send a request with the login data to phpBB and save the session ID. Then open the page with the session I...

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

Yes, I collect data in posts. You do it on your own forum too. GDPR is not limited to private data but applies to all personal data, even those disclosed to the public. This is what the GDPR is for anyone who has previously agreed to the publication so that he can later withdraw it and delete the d...
