Re: Custom BBCodes

I've got a strange request for a custom bbcode. I have this graph which is an external object - I've worked out the bbcode for it and it works kinda well but one of the elements it requires is a unix time entry - this is so that if its the same value then the graph will provide the data from that ti...

Group only sections

I would like to make certain parts of my forum to have group only access. For instance I have an ajax chat room which I would like only certain forum members to view - those which are in a specially created group. I would also like to have certain menus for those members also. I know how to separate...

[Request] multiple smilies depending on style

Hi, I currently have a light-background style and a dark-background style and users are allowed to choose which one they like. unfortunately the smilies are board wide and there is no way to choose which smiliey is displayed for which style - you can do this for buttons etc but not smilies. I would ...

Different smilies for different styles

I currently have a dark style and a light style for my phpbb forum and the default smilies have white edges around them on the dark style. When I got to update them for a dark skin I only have the option to change the smilies across all of the styles and therefore the dark style smilies will appear ...

Re: Catagory bar showing up.

Cheers for that.

Changing 'Registered Users' permission to 'no access' on the category removed it for people who didn't have permission to see any forums in within the category.

Fantastic response time btw!!

Catagory bar showing up.

I have a forum with a couple of categories in it. One of the categories is for special forums that only certain members can use. Therefore they are only visible to special groups that I created. However, when a person logs in who doesn't have permission to see any of the forums in the category the c...

Re: User Timezone in posts and profile

Thanks - never thought of that - I suppose I got to convince all the old members to fill that bit in.

Is there any way to show only certain custom files on the posts as I already have some but dont want all of them to be displayed there?

User Timezone in posts and profile

I have a game forum and my users are from different timezones and this has to be known so that we can send resources to each other at the right time depending on what timezone they are in. Is there any way to add their timezone in to their posts and profile? Just something like: Username Rank Avatar...

A topic thats probably been brought up a few times before and if anyone knows where it has been posted then by all means post a link here for me!! I'm setting up a new phpbb forum and I'm trying to work out a decent naming system for ranks. I know most people would say that it all depends on what ty...

bbcode buttons as images

I have a lot of bbcode buttons and I'm wondering if there is anyway to convert them into image buttons instead. So the resemble the toolbar on ms word etc. I currently have the left, right, center justify buttons and I think they would look better with the icons/buttons images that you have for the ...

User authentication handled by windows

Hi, (not sure if this is the correct location for this question and if a mod was created for it instead but...) Is there anyway for the users to be handled by the users windows logon instead of the board logon? The situation is that I'm building a corporate forum stored locally on our intranet syste...

how to create a local server?

I have a live forum out there on the blue fuzzy www and its getting to the point where I cant make on-the-fly updates to it without upsetting users - and if something goes wrong with an install of a mod 8O wouldn't be good. I've seen posts from people who have local severs created to run development...
