Re: Non-registered users

Now that you mention it, they were both in the sponsor forums. I saw your post - thank you for checking that, I thought things had been turned off. I went to Users and Groups -> Guest group -> and made sure I set all permissions to "Never". Is there something else I should check? Thanks for your hel...

Membership management

I currently run a board where 90% of it is free. But, there is 10% of it that is accessible via paid membership only. This is currently managed by group permissions. My problem is that we have to accept payments outside of the board, keep track of these memberships in a separate spreadsheet, and man...

Re: Forum images

Here is a screen grab of the error and what I have entered. I get the warning banner after hitting submit. It won't let me proceed until I remove the image.

Forum images

Since I updated to 3.0.6 I can't use the Forum Image field anymore. Everything I did have in there still works, but if I try to change or add a forum image, I get a red Warning bar at the top of Forum Administration page. Ironically, the correct image shows up as a preview, but I still get the Warni...

Re: Advertisement Management

Warning - Extreme newbie!!! I am having trouble installing this MOD (my first one). I am running subilver2 and was installing all the components manually. I created a "test" version of my site at www.XXXXXX.com/test. The base PHPBB is running fine. I uploaded all the appropriate files (and to their ...

Can't stop guest posting

I thought I had everything set so that the "guest" group could "Read Only" with all of the forum permissions.

But, guests can still post and create new threads. Image verification is on, but as long as they fill that out, there is nothing stopping them.

What am I doing wrong?

Re: How to ad a "bug" to the front page

Please forgive the EXTREME newbie question, but this is my first venture into running any kind of website. When I open the overall_header.html file (in Dreamweaver), I get a lengthy page of HTML code and I seem to be confused where I should enter the code from my first post. Does it matter where it ...

Re: How to ad a "bug" to the front page

Where in the code should it be inserted?

It would be great if I could have it on all pages. Is that possible?

How to ad a "bug" to the front page

Stupid newbie question - How and where do I need to add the following code for this to show up on my main forum page (I'm using subsilver 2 if that matters): <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="125" bgcolor="#16c1f3"> <tr> <td align="center"><a href="http://www.drsfostersmith.co...

Newbie needs security help

I have been told (by our previous webmaster) that phpbb is not very secure. Our group was running vbulletin but after a falling out with said webmaster, I started a new site with phpBB. I have NO idea what I'm doing, but so far have been very pleased with how intuitive and easy it is to setup. Howev...
